Re: That Which Binds Us [Otome][Modern Fantasy / Mystery][Updated Demo]

Is it my perspective or do the backgrounds seem to be a little high behind the characters in the previews? I haven't played the demo just yet, but it looks like you're making good progress. I'm interested in seeing the finished project. :)

Exception: DynamicImage

Please move this if this is the wrong area or delete if it's been discussed. The search hasn't been working for me and I didn't see it discussed in the first three pages. I've encountered what I believe to be a bug. I notice when I create a new project it won't generate all the files on the intial s...

Re: Certain name reactions??

Can you post the full error log please? I was a little tired when I replied sorry. @trooper6 This is the error I get when I have the code as this: init: $ nameColor = "#FFFFFF" default mc_name = "Violet" define v = Character("[mc_name]", who_color=nameColor) label start: v "I I work" if mc_name == "...

Re: VNs with mute characters?

They do, and they're done through just the writing and not visual. It would take a lot of time and effort for a character to actually be able to speak sign language, because you'd have to have an artist draw them all out individually.

default mc_name = "Violet" default name_color = "#FFF" define mc = Character("[mc_name]", who_color=name_color) label start: if mc_name == "Violet": $ name_color = "8300FF" "Your name is [mc_name]. That's like the color purple right?" else: "It's nice to meet you [mc_name]." I haven't tested the na...

You can use alt transformations on the scene like this:

Code: Select all

scene bg washington:
    zoom 2.0

Re: Persistence and how to work with it

Your using persistent variables for one game play through? That’s not their purpose. A persistent variable is used for variables set when the person unlocks something. For example unlocking an achievement you only ever see it once no matter who is playing. You just need regular variables to set up i...

Re: Aether Skies [Dark Fantasy/Mystery/Dual Protagonist] [Demo]

Hello! Just popping in to share a quick update for Aether Skies. A whole lot of project development happened over the holiday season. 1) We’ve reached 40,000 words and 100 choices and counting. 2) The art for the new sprites is finishing up nicely and the new CG should be done soon. 3) I removed the...

Re: Nonfictional VNs

There was once used by a teacher to help her English language learners in Japan, but that was a fictional story. I’ve used it to study and make test for my Art History class since you can use the menu and display images, I even tallied my points and scored myself until I got 100s. As for autobiograp...

Re: After Effects Movies settings for renpy

Thanks so much Dovakitteh. It's actually the most input I've gotten on it whenever I've asked. I've been trying to learn more about using video editing, but specific for renpy seem a little harder to research.

Re: Constant User Interface?

No problem with %s you can use more then one by seperating them with a comma. They can even be used for the folder name where the image is found. So essentially this add "%s%s.png"%(character, photo) Example eileen1.png add "images/%s/%s.png"%(character, photo) It's look for the folder "eileen" and ...

Using %s to generate Images for sprites and more

I wanted to share my own experience with using %s to create custom overlays and character creation. For those who don't know %s is used for formatting strings in python. It acts as a placeholder for a string, and their associated values are passed in via a tuple using the % operator. This means you ...

Re: Constant User Interface?

So you want to show an image based on a variable? Something like this for a calander? default month = 1 default day = 1 screen overlay: frame: hbox: add "month%s.png"%(month) add "day%s.png"%(day) This uses the %s as a placeholder for the value of month and day. You would then have an image of the t...
