Re: A Shadow's Reflection [Kinetic][Creepy] w/Demo

@Kokoro Hane Downloaded the demo some months ago and played through it. Just went through it again a few minutes ago. Found it to be very interesting, and I am anxiously awaiting the next release. Can't wait to see how this is going to turn out! It's been a few months since your last post - any pro...

I started with Ren'Py 6.10.2e, and I still keep it installed. Some old projects of mine didn't work well in the latest versions. I like to keep my personal nostalgic museum.
Wow! You've been with Ren'Py for quite sometime. Yes, I love having a personal nostalgia library too. ^^

Re: Using Ren'Py for a text adventure/IF

If you want a true text adventure (walk around, interact with objects) there are a lot of free cross-platform tools designed just for that - you'd be better off working with them as many, many years of effort has already gone into making things work sensibly with complicated nouns and verbs. (Look ...

Re: Eileen's Otome Love Story [GxB][Random?] Demo 0 DL! Up.1

Bet nobody expected to see this thread again, eh? Well, I re-uploaded the original Demo 0 to my itch.io account; https://tofu-sheets-visual.itch.io/eileens-otome-love-story So what does this mean? I updated the main thread with that info, but basically, this game holds a special place in my heart, t...

Re: Your first version of Ren'Py!

I always use the latest release of RenPy because I want to see all the new code I can use (albeit me being such a newbie to it that I tend to mess things up...) But my first RenPy version was something in 2012. I checked the release list on the website and it's likely that it's RenPy 6.14 "Steampun...

Your first version of Ren'Py!

I thought it'd be fun to talk about where we all began. Do you remember which version of Ren'Py you started using when you entered the visual novel dev community? Mine was, and I kid you not I wouldn't let go of it for a few years, Ren'Py 6.12.1. https://www.renpy.org/release/6.12.1 I loaded it up a...

Re: Using Ren'Py for a text adventure/IF

You may find this of interest / use as well. https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35856#p394396 It's essentially an artificial intelligence for renpy. In my experiments, I found its responses rather crude (as if picked with a random generator) and it doesn't hold a conversation (it kep...

Re: Using Ren'Py for a text adventure/IF

There's this. https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40435#p428984 It makes use of the legacy GUI and doesn't work well on newer versions of renpy (trying to write more than one word is impossible) but maybe you could use it as a base to build a new project from? Thank you for linking me...

Re: [1 WEEK LOVE IN THE TRAIN] [BxG] [NaNoRenO2019]

Awww this looks really cute! I can't wait to play it. There is quite a lack of BxG games methinks in the EVN community (namely ones that aren't explicit) so I am happy to see projects like these~

Using Ren'Py for a text adventure/IF

So I was wondering if anyone has used Ren'Py to make a purely text based game? I am experimenting with it since it is so easy, it's like writing a regular VN just without visuals. I got interested in making one (despite not having the privilege of playing one--I want to) when I watched a video about...

Re: [Tutorial] Easy Yes/No prompt customization (no imagemaps)

Great job on posting this! I wish your post had been around when I was starting my game. This is exactly how I did mine, too. Much more easier and simpler. Wish we could give people gold star or something for awesome posts. Sorry for super late posts, lol, but glad you liked the tutorial. Ah, so yo...
