Re: Hirameki gone
No, you can get passwords any time. But usually, when you load using a password, you will be brought the the beginning of the day where you "saved" - but a lot of the days in Hourglass of Summer are short anyway, so it's not a problem. I made it a habit to play until the next morning every time, an...

Re: Hirameki gone
Arrrrgh! I missed buying Phantom of Inferno on Archonia, it was sold out right before my eyes ;_; Now I may have to import it from the US if I still want it.... expensive <_<;; (If you know a good place where you can still get it, then please do tell) Edit: No wait! It just got back in stock O_O *r...

Re: Hirameki gone
Luckily I still managed to order a pile of DVDs before they disappear (Piece of Wonder, Exodus Guilty Interactive 1-3, Dragonia Interactive, Ai Yori Aoshi). Currently in the mail... and now the next question is when I will ever have time to play them all. ^_^;;; Heh... I haven't ordered much 'cos I...

Re: Hirameki gone
They tried it with Piece of Wonder, but that wasn't a very good game.* I think Hirameki's problems were as much with supply as demand. Ever17 came out in December 2005. After that was Animamundi and PoW. PoW wasn't very good, and Animamundi was shonen-ai. Going for 2 years without a major release a...

Re: Hirameki gone
Hmmmm... if it was so hard to get the game into brick and mortar stores, why did they not consider selling the games on the internet? A lot of indie game developers do that these days: pay a sum to get a direct download. If you want the original dvd/cd? Fine, pay a bit more + shipping to get the dis...

Re: Visual novels... how to play them?
Btw, one very very last question:
I can't remember what choices I made in a certain game. Is there anywhere I can check?
Confession: Lucifiel thinks she's been too pampered by games these days 'cos she rarely bothers to write down certain things. =P Guess it's time to change, eh?

Re: MMMORPG
If you are absolutely sure and have proofs that you are the victim, putting your story on a rant & flames type forum and dedicated to the game you are playing on will be much more efficient than any cybercops, you will be sure the stalker will never meet you again if all the players are aware and a...

Re: MMMORPG
Actually, I should've been more exact in my usage of words. These days, there've been various incidents where players use hacks or even scripts or some other method to bypass bot/etc. protection. It's pretty extreme, I admit, but there've also been an increasing number of cases of players enacting ...

Re: Visual novels... how to play them?
Thank you, everyone, for your kind responses! :) I'm sure I'll be able to get better at playing VNs in time. With Metropolitan Blues, the story does branch after the opening choice you make, but the events only change significantly about half-way into the story. Heh... really! Well, I just got the b...

Re: Visual novels... how to play them?
Hey chronoluminaire,
thank you so much for the advice!
One last question, everyone: how do the "choices" work? I noticed that the narration doesn't really change no matter what choice I chose for Metropolitian Blues. *kinda confused*

Re: Visual novels... how to play them?
Transitions are scripting commands used by the creator to change how the game moves between screens (eg having one background dissolve into another). It's probably best for most games to play with this enabled. If Auto Forward Time is enabled, the text will advance automatically, at the chosen spee...

Haha, I know what you mean,I never played any sierra game but I remember when I was in middle school I left MI1 unfinished until I had my summer vacation because I was blocked... Then I thought, why not placing some dynamite here and see if it works...oops? Heh... I've been trying to complete MI3 f...

Re: Visual novels... how to play them?
... ... Nooo... why didn't I learn that earlier? :( I think I might've frightened all my friends who could be "potential" VN lovers. :P 'Cos it's frustrating when the conversations run for over an hour without stopping. And even worse, I'm used to games where you've conversations which could last fo...

Visual novels... how to play them?
I'll be frank. The only encounter I've had with a visual novel so far was with Ever17 demo(awesome narration) but... the problem is that it kept going on and on and I didn't get a chance to save or to do anything else. So, in frustration, I quit the game by pressing Alt + F4(or forcefully shutting i...

Sam!Yup yup! That's him :3 XD I'm a huge fan of this kind of game(Lucasarts stuff) Ooh... I've played Monkey's Island 1 and 2(need to finish MI3), Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle, etc. But I'm also a fan of Quest for Glory(awesome series for its' time), Gabriel Knight and a few other Sierra g...
