Re: Doll * House (KN) (Fantasy/Psychological/Romance)

Ho, interesting story. I would really like to see it.
I'm going looking forward for what kind of secret there is.

And I agree with inhalance. You need someone to proofread your post.
Good luck!

Re: WebStory Engine - A Visual Novel Engine for the Web

That feeling when you're told your name is ugly  Maybe I should write another path in the introduction that features Lia... and then at the beginning have a choice: "Do you like being harassed by a giant ball of hair? => Yes, please. => No, thanks." :P But then choosing either one will always ...

Re: WebStory Engine - A Visual Novel Engine for the Web

There will be a typewriter effect in the next version, 0.3: http://webstoryengine.org/roadmap A preview of the next version: http://webstoryengine.org/webstories/basic-effects2/ - that's the effect you mean, right? Ah yes, that's the one! Thank you. I'm in the process of learning this engine. So th...

Re: WebStory Engine - A Visual Novel Engine for the Web

Thank you very much.
I was just messing around with it and got to do it properly. Guess I really need to read the documentation more.
Thank you for the reply!
Ah, another thing. Is there any function to make the text appear letter by letter? I mean just like the one in normal VN.

Re: WebStory Engine - A Visual Novel Engine for the Web

A quick question.
How do you use the NVL setting in the text box?
I mean to emulate that each line in the NVL is shown when you click, not all at once.
Sorry if this is such a beginner question, but I can't seem to find how to use it.
Either I can't find it or I can't understand it.

Re: On what stage do you prefer doing art?

To be honest--I never quite understood this. What exactly is the problem with programming? I mean, I have troubles making puzzle games etc. (though I am fine if somebody helps me a bit or if I can look at some similar code to figure it out), but the very basic stuff (showing and changing sprite etc...

Re: VN Engine for the Web

@Shad12ow: I would be interested in what parts of the WebStory Engine documentation you'd like to see improved. It's difficult for me as the developer to see what information VN developers really want to know about the engine. You could say, as the developer of something, you are a little clueless ...

Re: On what stage do you prefer doing art?

I must admit, I prefer writing when I have at least the sprites finished. =)" (I know that it's not practical as the style develops but... gah.) It really helps me to get into the flow of writing. I feel the same with you. Seeing the character sprite stimulate the mind for a more interesting story ...

Re: VN Engine for the Web

I know that database is better for handling masses of data. But somehow I just want to explore another language. Let's just say I want to have an "adventure" in the unknown realm of the unknown language. Hehehe... But then the pace is going to be slow. Well, back to the drawing board for me then. I ...

Re: VN Engine for the Web

Hmm, for myself maybe using html/.net will be the quickest since it is the language used in my everyday work.
And maybe I can use XML as the data storage like in WebStory.
Not a bad idea. Not bad at all...

Re: VN Engine for the Web

For ease of use, WebStory is probably good. I'd also look into Flash as I've seen a ton of VNs being done in it. I'm using Unity right now to prototype a VN engine, but that's more work than you'd probably want to do for something similar. You could also look into doing something with HTML5 since i...

VN Engine for the Web

Hello there! Just want to ask your opinion. I want to make a VN that can be viewed by a browser without the need of downloading anything. I mean that you just type the link and play. That's it. What engine do you recommend? For now I'm trying to use WebStory Engine, but since the documentation is so...
