Re: Making your first game
Hmm making your first game is never an easy task - take me for example, I have YET to make my first Ren'Py game (for all those who do or don't remember me, hi again). A kinetic novel is what you make it out to be, it doesn't have to be boring, but you do need to write to keep the reader interested. ...

Re: supernatural mystery fiction problem....er yeah that's it
Supernatural DOES NOT always mean blood and gore! That is a common mistake, a mystery and even a science fiction one is not required to have shocking and horrifying scenes, unless the story itself calls for them. Oh I know, sorry I was thinking more along the lines of psychopath/supernatural/insani...

Re: Gundam 00
Well apart from the spoilers in this topic (dammit! Cruncyroll removed Gundam 00 before it heated up, now it's all been spoiled for me  ), all this talk just confirms how humanoid mecha just won't happen. Another huge con about humanoid mechs is the joints - joints that just couldn't work (in t...

Re: supernatural mystery fiction problem....er yeah that's it
I agree with everything bloodywyvern said above, and just wanted to add that the more detailed the supernatural element you make in the more indept world you create, the more interested will be the player (a good exemple is the world bloodywyvern's avatar is living). Another extreme technique would...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Hmmm a fight using members of the board? That'd be interesting - perhaps a new topic for a comic based on this board (reminds me of Megatokyo Forums in the past), as in a fight comic?
Or an actual game - in which case it'll either Ren'Py or MUGEN. (MUGEN is probably work extensive...

Re: Love in mainstream video games
........Tales of Symphonia. Ah... That was the only Tales game I really like, tried playing the GBA Tales game - wasn't quite the same... Collete, Sheena and Presea are quite memorable characters, heck I even tried pairing Lloyd with Sheena as an alternative with Collete. And it was quite fun for m...

Re: Gaming Questions
-What's your greatest/nerdiest achievement in a video game? Well, I remember completing Star Fox and R-Type on the SNES - that being no saves, just constant play. Yeah brings back memories. I'm not sure if Halo could count as an achievement, but I did get a couple of good frags - that being a couple...

Re: game mechanics 2: dialogue and scenario branching
The only problem with doing that is that it would take up a lot of your time writing up all the different branches, and making sure that they're all in flavour and not too out of context - Otherwise it's a great idea! I'm planning on using both branches, that way you should be able to introduce a di...

Re: Gundam 00
Take for example, Akira is cell animated on 70 mm film and has been released as HD. Looking at the quality and detail of the animation, it's a worthy buy. For clarification - cel animated on painted cels which are notably larger, and then the stack of cels which make up each frame is photographed o...

Re: Gundam 00
Speaking of Gundam 00, Gundam 00 is the first gundam that appear in HD format. I understand the basic of making a HD movie (just use a HD camera), but how to make a HD anime? Is there any changes in drawing techniques/media? Sorry if my question is a bit out of the topic. Hmm.. I too wondered about...

Re: game mechanics
I remember reading something about this. With the ui.timer, you can add time to an options menu, so in a way creating a sense of tension depending on what scene you have.... If you also add visual, that too can create some tension, if not try and add sound. Remember Clock Tower? I meant the old SNES...

Re: OS-tans!
Hmm... I really like 98-tan twins. They are so kawaii! I have only seen piccys, but I usually picture them as opposites. One is shy and the other one, due to her being the "buggy" version, freaks out alot. BTW, did you know about this? http://home.dlsite.com/work/=/product_id/RJ033970.html Lol thei...

Re: Books/Manual on using Python/Ren'Py?
Ah okay then - I kinda realised just how much I needed to look up codes on the internet and so wondered if there was an offline format. I'll just save all the pages, and create a new text file for whenever I request codes and such... Well thanks anyway, I suppose I better get all the basics done bef...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
New drawing. I'm more satisfied with it. My partner helped me with this one, like the other one. I hope everyone likes it. Anyway, he's another character going to my next game. Does he fit in a horror themed game? Oh gawd... That's a guy? >_> Strangely reminds me of the trap Tieria from Gundam 00. ...
