Re: Soundcard...?
It depends on how the studio is setup. For a person just recording single tracks for vocals I doubt they would need anything faster than USB2.0, but for someone like me, where everything I do with audio pushes my PC to it's limits, the faster something is, the better. It just depends on the scenario...

Re: Soundcard...?
No, but USB2.0 is kind of slow in comparison if you plan on using an external audio device. M-Audio makes a few external audio devices, but just about anything external that's decent costs more than internal... and it also doesn't really effect performance any as far as buffering goes since the CPU ...

Re: Got music?
Don't cringe too much now... I really need to make up a PDF file of these rates so I don't have to keep typing them over and over again... $500/minute = full rights, you own the music $250/minute = exclusivity + distribution(as part of a project), I maintain all rights but the ability to resell the ...

Ah, sorry... didn't realize you were using a notebook, laptop, etc... whatever you want to call it I suppose.
Do you have a firewire port? Or at the least USB3.0?

Re: Got music?
Not really, all she did was sing. All the music, including the melody in the vocals, as well as the lyrics were done by myself. Was planning on using her again for Valdis Story but she jacked her rates up considerably and the developers weren't willing to pay the costs of it. She randomly did that ...

Re: Soundcard...?
Creative cards are a terrible choice for anybody doing audio production. They are intended for use by the average consumer, mainly geared toward entertainment. Look into M-Audio's line of cards. If you're on a budget I'd recommend... http://www.fullcompass.com/product/267454.html?utm_source=googleps...

Re: Advice Needed When Working with a Composer
I think reference tracks would depend entirely on the composer you are dealing with. An inexperienced composer that is fine, but one that has a reputation for doing well, I would suggest giving them space to bring their expertise in designing a soundtrack for a game. The good ones typically have a b...

Re: Versatile Composer (No Freebies)
Anybody needing a quick track or two now(not for free) feel free to contact me. There's been a delay in development on my current project so while that delay is still in effect I have some free time to write, but only doing this on a per song basis since I have no idea when to expect the other proje...

Re: Versatile Composer (No Freebies)
Your songs are pretty awesome! Keep up the great work, and I hope that you can get a few side songs for fun :) It'd be nice, but people tend to avoid spending money on the audio in their projects(regardless of the type of project, game, film, etc). They don't ever seem to pay much attention to how ...

Depending on the format you want and how much quality you are willing to sacrifice, there could be any number of things you could use. You can read about the various formats and their pros/cons here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_file_format As far as what to use to encode them, google will ser...
