Re: Gah! I need some loops to make Japanese-sounding music!
Garageband is a DAW, but like all DAWs you can use it to sequence MIDIs as well. Edit - Correction(on myself), like MOST DAWs. I'm pretty sure ACID doesnt' have any direct support for MIDI but it could've changed over the years. I'm not really familiar with it anymore... having used it only a couple...

Re: Resource Creation~ Music Feedback
The concept is nice, just gotta make it happen. :] Maybe get yourself some mod capabilities for this forum and that way you can oversee things more efficiently. You know, so some random guy doesn't come in and post 5000 tracks in the same thread but never says a word worth saying?

Re: Resource Creation~ Music Feedback
I'm... kind of for it. Although I just have my skepticism it might end up like the "post your music here" thread at tigsource forums, which is ... 72 pages and counting of people posting their own music and once in a blue moon somebody actually listening to what's posted. :p

Re: Music Creation Resources?
The best method for learning I've found it just diving in headfirst and figuring what works for you... every aspect. Sure, you can learn more knowledge about theory, instrumental capabilities(what each instrument can/can't do), various effects, techniques(both acoustic and electronic), what DAW work...

Re: Music Creation~ Where Do You Start When Composing?
I usually get an idea in my head and try to recreate it as closely as possible... although sometimes the outcome is slightly different... or sometimes very different from the original "plan". That's just how I do things now though, 10...15 years ago I'm sure the process was much more "guess and chec...

Re: Versatile Composer
Fawn: Thanks! Looking forward to it. Kindred: I've been hobbying music composition since I was about 9 or 10 but started taking it serious when I was a sophmore in highschool. As far as an estimate for how long... 10+ years off and on maybe? Mickychi: I would probably be okay with dropping to my rat...

Re: Versatile Composer
Well, I usually charge when doing work for video games but this to me seems more of a hobby forum so I'm willing to do the occasional track for free as long as it doesn't take me a century to write it. :p

Re: Versatile Composer
I use Sonar 8.5, and mainly use Kontakt 4 for loading samples. Depends on the set though. Thanks for the kind words. :]

Hello everybody, Just happened to stumble on this forum today and figured I'd post here offering my services in music to anybody that's interested. I was always curious about communities like this one(whether or not they existed) but never really LOOKED for one. :] Anyway, I typically just write mus...
