Re: Video animator for commission/free

Ridge Racer 4 music? You have my seal of approval already!

This will come in handy for making a trailer, et cetera. I'll get back to you when I have all the graphics ready.

Re: Ren'Py Gripes

The Pause command doesn't take hard pauses, so if I wanted to say

Code: Select all

show bg black with Pause(2, hard=true)
It wouldn't work, and I would have to use renpy.pause=(2, hard=true) instead.

Re: Splash Screen Ren'py Pause Problems

Hmm, that's lame, apparently the Pause parameter doesn't accept that.

You should do this instead:

Code: Select all

show splash with dissolve
$ renpy.pause(2, hard=true)
The problem, I believe, was that you put it before the relevant code happened.

Re: How to get the image of the main character into the texb

You have to add padding to the character's dialog.

My main character looks something like;

Code: Select all

define d = Character('Dougal', window_left_padding=300, image="dougal")
It's a bit obtuse, it should automatically resize the box but it doesn't.

Re: Splash Screen Ren'py Pause Problems

It works for me. You can just replace the pause commands in your animation like so:

Code: Select all

label splashscreen:
    scene black
    with Pause(0.5, hard=true)

    show splash
    with dissolve
    with Pause(2.0, hard=true)

    scene black
    with dissolve
    with Pause(1.0, hard=true)

But, Is it possible to pause 1-3 seconds before the start of the scroll?

Thank you, anyway :3
The wait command is:

Code: Select all

time 2.0
You can put it inside the ATL block.

Re: Credits with Pan

Oh, I am dum! Replace "with" with "at" and it should work perfectly. show image credits at creditspan Alternatively, if you only need to use it on one image and not multiple ones, a simpler version should work: "Last words in novel here" nvl clear window hide scene black with dissolve show image cre...

Re: Text modifications

To start a new line you have to use

Code: Select all

This is line 1/nThis is line 2
To put a space you can just use two of the "/n" instead of one.

Re: Credits with Pan

Anywhere, basically. Like a screen, you can stick it anywhere. Though, to keep it organized, you might want to group stuff or put them all in a separate script.

Re: Credits with Pan

I would use an ATL transform instead... transform creditspan: yalign 0.0 linear 10.0 yalign 1.0 "Last words in novel here" nvl clear window hide scene credits with creditspan $ renpy.pause(10) scene black with dissolve show text "2012" with Pause(1.5) return (I'm assuming you're panning vertically, ...

Re: Making voicing code less visible/shorter?

I don't see how doing that would streamline the process, though, it's still the same amount of extra cruft if not moreso. I was looking for a way to do it without using any filenames. Maybe there could be something that uses the music queue?

Re: Making voicing code less visible/shorter?

What I really wish there was was a command like begin voice block "voice/part1_%s.ogg" p "I am person 1" d "I am person 2" end voice block Which would automatically find the number of separate lines between the beginning and end, and play numbered voice files in sequence (with the string being the n...

Re: Icebound [Dark Fantasy/Mystery] [Commercial]

You're right, that doesn't make much sense. I edited the OP to make it more clear.

A tidbit of info: the reason there are gears everywhere is because the setting is clockpunk, basically, most machinery that is not steam powered is based off of clockwork.

Re: Change styles for the menus

I am also trying to make an encyclopedia-type thing, right now the crude version is basically a very large menu but you would get the best results by using Screens. What you would do is add a button to the main menu (located in the screens script) and use it to trigger another screen where your dict...
