Re: How little is too little internal dialog?

My story is completely external dialog with no thoughts from the main character... probably because I've done screenwriting prior, but I felt like that would increase the sense of atmosphere compared to a narrator who was running his mouth all the time and in between dialog.

Re: LiveComposite with random blinking? [unsolved]

EDIT:

Got the bobbing to work using yanchor instead.

I still could use a random number maker to save space.

Lip flap and random blinking with ATL? [SOLVED]

I'm trying to use this code to make the characters have the blinking animation, but it seems to be non-random in the amount of time characters have their eyes open. How do I add a random number picker or something? Also, isn't the Animation function deprecated? Unrelated question: Is it possible to ...

Re: Icebound [Dark Fantasy/Mystery] [Commercial]

Work in progress of the alchemy kit...

This is where the minigame comes in!

How did Dougal acquire said kit, you ask? Well, it came with the cloak.

Another question, how could I make it so that text fades in on every line? Like, not just every letter instantly appearing after another, a gradual fade for each letter.
I tried looking for that myself, but I don't think it's possible yet. It would be a cool feature, though.

Re: Icebound [Dark Fantasy/Mystery] [Commercial]

We are planning on releasing a demo in a couple weeks. It might take longer than that to get all the voice acting in, though. And that's assuming we don't get delayed again... but maybe more screenshots will be put up later on. The game is not completely absent of romance, but it takes a more tangen...

Re: Inserting Script, Making Lines Fade In, SFX at end of li

A few questions: -Is there a way to easily insert script into jedit? I'm working with a group as a programmer, and we have a team of writers doing the script. I doubt that all of them know how the Ren'Py engine works, so they won't be writing the script in a jedit friendly format, with indentations...

Re: Icebound [Dark Fantasy/Mystery] [Commercial]

I read your synopsis, and I'm trying to understand your plot. It sounds like Dougal is searching for treasure, that the isolated town might have a monster nearby, and that there will be some secrets to uncover. I'm not sure what might happen from that point forward. What goals does the main charact...

Re: future Spriter support in Ren'Py

Would this be possible? Should I grab Spriter and try to do something with it, or is it not going to happen?

Re: Long transition while user clicks through dialog?

Alternatively you could make a screen, add the bottom layer below the top layer, and gradually reduce the opacity of the top layer image. I'm not sure if it works, but it SHOULD...

Re: Dialogue-based launcher.

I think it would be at least somewhat useful. After all, labels are not necessary for decision choices unless they lead to completely different story branches - in which case they are likely to be rather long. A button or image map generator built into the launcher would be interesting. It would tak...

Re: Long transition while user clicks through dialog?

You could make overlaid versions of all the stages of the transition in Photoshop and then switch between those after every new text block. Basically switching between, say, 4 gradual images instead of 2 non-overlaid images.
