Re: I only need one button

Usually this is caused by incorrect indentation. In this case the code and indentation are correct. A guess -- and it's just a guess -- is it could be related to the editor you're using and how it handles copy/paste. In any case, here's a script.rpy to try if you like or you can retype the code your...

Re: I only need one button

You should be able to drop that code into a project and go.

It's hard to know why you're getting those errors without seeing how you've copied it into the script. Did you copy/paste the whole thing? Is indentation correct? Etc.

Re: Help with making a shop in renpy!!

The error indicates the object "inventory" has not been defined, however in the example you posted it is defined in the shop label? Make sure you are creating that object in the code that's throwing the error. Also, you have some variables in an init block: init: $ TIME = 0 $ items = [] $ Day = 1 $ ...

Re: I only need one button

You want to call a label. https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/label.html#call-statement Here are examples of how call and call_in_new_context work. Basically, call allows the player to jump from line1 and return to line 2. call_in_new_context means the player will go to a new context and return to the sa...

Re: How to get textbuttons to toggle variables on/off?

There are several screen actions that toggle data, you probably want this one.

Re: Textbutton with State-Dependent Text

Re: Button: I tried but could do no better unfortunately. It has to do with how the Text displayable handles styles? screen button_test(): default select = False button: xsize 120 ysize 20 idle_child Text("Idle", style="test_text") hover_child Text("Hover", style="test_text") selected_child Text("Se...

Re: Infinite, Stackable Inventory/Crafting/Vendor - UPDATED

Hmmm, looks like someone needs to test their code more thoroughly! Not mentioning any names. *clears throat delicately*

Similar issue, but needed to make a slight screen adjustment as well. I have updated the files in the first post. Thank you for catching that.

Re: Infinite, Stackable Inventory/Crafting/Vendor - UPDATED

Oh, good catch, thank you! I forgot to update the Inventory button.

Line 131 should be:

Code: Select all

textbutton "Inventory" action Show("inventory_screen", first_inventory=jane_inv)

Re: Textbutton with State-Dependent Text

I think you'll want to use imagebuttons for this. You can assign a different image based on button state as insensitive, sensitive, or selected by using styling. If you want it to look like a textbutton you can use text displayables. Edit to add: ok you can use a button, you can change the child dis...

Re: Have a Screen display dialogue, then go back on close

Try making a screen that looks like the dialogue window and using that to display the inspection text. Something like

Code: Select all

screen popup(display_text):
    window:
        id "window"
        text display_text
