Re: Japanese Language game

@ jjbproductions: I really liked your characters, I especially find the mute boy very original. If he can only write Japanese in his notebook, the player has to try to read and translate it to understand, which I think it's good for learning to read. But the story, I personally think it has to be m...

Re: Japanese Language game

Thanks a lot for your hard work. I especially like the depth in the characters. This is something I'm not good at myself, but I feel it's needed, so the story will be more interesting, and to make the players care about the people they encounter. I do have two questions though. Does most of the sto...

Re: Japanese Language game

Here is my story idea I spent two hours working on: A teenage boy (or girl) has an uncle who lives in Japan who has recently gotten ill. The boy/girl's parents send their child there to watch after him for the summer. The boy/girl reluctantly heads to Japan without knowing any Japanese, and not know...

Re: Unnamed Japanese Study Game

Not being able to speak Japanese isn't a problem. My Japanese isn't great, but I actually have a few Japanese friends who are happy to help with translations, and my Japanese wife too. Not only that, but they will make sure the Japanese in the game sounds natural, not just correct. Hmm.. so could I...

Re: Unnamed Japanese Study Game

I would like to help, but I unfortuanetly don't know Japanese :( Maybe I could co-write a few (not too many because I am very busy) of the non-Japanese scenes because I am very interested in this.

Re: Some things only revealed in bad/neutral path

Think of it like this; not everyone will get a bad ending, so there will always be people who miss that part of your story. Is the information you placed there important enough to you, the author, that you wish everyone needs to know it so they can fully understand and appreciate your story? If yes...

Re: Endings in Visual Novels

Why is the worst ending unrealistic. In fact, it happens very often in RL. In fiction, it happens very often to many characters that non-protagonist. I guess they can be made realistically, I just don't find them often written realistically. A lot of times it is just like "Everyone around me dies a...

Re: Endings in Visual Novels

Here are some popular types of endings in visual novels and my opinions on them: Best Ending: These endings are very happy. The cop solves a crime without anyone getting hurt. Basically, the main character overcomes the conflict with little or no downfalls. I don't really like these endings because ...

Re: Do your characters surprise you?

I write my characters' bios and personality profiles in advance, but when I actually write the story, they show all these facets I knew nothing about: the shy girl asks deeply personal questions out of the blue, the strong girl pouts when she doesn't get things her way. And what's worse, I don't kn...

Re: Some things only revealed in bad/neutral path

Of course some info should only be available on a bad or neutral path. Otherwise what reason do you have to go down those paths? Besides, learning stuff you wouldn't have known about the characters otherwise can ease most of the pain of getting a bad ending. Thank you. I know that in visual novels ...

Some things only revealed in bad/neutral path

Hey everyone!! I am working on an unannounced visual novel, and am wondering about your opinion on this: There is one character in it ( I will call this person PA) who is sad for a majority of the game (whether or not you are on PA's bad/neutral path) but you only learn why he is sad in the neutral ...

It sounds very interesting! I can't wait to hear more about it in the future.
