Re: Death scenes

Deaths should be surprising yet inevitable. In other words, when it happens, you're shocked, but then you think about it and realize that it was inevitable that this was going to happen. This is what foreshadowing is for. When a favorite character dies, you want the readers to be mad at what killed ...

Re: Sketch request plz.><(CLOSED)

It might help to think of breasts as water balloons, they sag in a similar manner. She looks more like a guy because her face is long and her shoulders are wide in proportion to her torso. You can still tell she's a girl though. ^-^

Stutters are uppercase then lowercase. L-like this. Interruptions are with an em dash. Like thi—

Most text editing programs will take two dashes an automatically convert it into an em dash.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I like the freckles! I think the skin looks much better now. She looks more alive. I would take the freckles off of the neck and that swatch right under her arm, with such small freckles on her shoulders they would never show up there. Put the freckles where you're likely to get a sunburn and you'll...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

I'm very familiar with that one! I'm disabled, so I get that all the time. Yes, glad you're worried about me, but please listen when I tell you what's wrong and what the solution is! I know more about my illness than you do, really.

Re: I...may have gone overboard.

This is really cool! It's too bad that it's old art now, it looks good and that's obviously a lot of work. If you don't have a purpose for it, you should consider letting someone else use it. I wanted to put this much effort into my sprites, so I'm glad you've posted details about why you don't want...

Re: Which style is the best ?

I've seen it in professional anime and manga, so it's obviously a valid look. Just not one I go for. You're obviously a talented artist though, so it's going to be great!

Re: Which style is the best ?

I would like the second one best, but that eye style creeps me out. The first one is the style I would want to play a game with. Best would be the second with the first one's eyes only not so big on the face.

Re: Is it worth creating a historical fiction VN?

My understanding of historical stuff is that researching is the most fun part of the process. That's when I knew for certain it wasn't for me. :) There were some writing excuses podcasts that might be useful. http://www.writingexcuses.com/2012/02/12/writing-excuses-7-7-historical-fantasy/ and http:/...

If we're talking about animation programs with tweening, http://www.synfig.org/ might work. I haven't tried it, but it's free and it lets you bring in bitmap files.

Re: What are you going to do this summer ?

Learn how to and then make an Otome VN. It'll be great, because it'll still be a big enough project to be hard and therefore fun but use a completely different skill set from my last project, the Liberated Pixel Cup. Don't really have any other plans.

Re: Anoother Question. Aggh ! D: -Pen-

I like colored lead when I draw. It's much harder to erase, but I like the way it builds up pigment and glides on the paper. You just get a mechanical pencil and replace the lead with pigmented stuff. The pigmented lead is harder to find, mostly it's in office supply stores. In pens the most importa...
