Re: What about Creepy/Horror Games?
Donmai, as far as I understand it, that other topic is about "HOW to make a game scary" I know that, I listed most of the named thing of the other topic right in my first post, even though in short xD I asked rather, if people see interest in Ren'Py made Horror games. What they would expect from a g...

Re: What about Creepy/Horror Games?
sourbite, just as a comment in between: Ren'Py is NOT solely for VNs. VNs are exceptionally easy with Ren'Py, but since Ren'Py allows keyboard and mouse interactions, you can also make a Click&Point, Hidden Object or even Side scrolling game with it. So the "hunted feeling" can also come from actual...

Re: Question about Possibilities in Ren'Py (solved)
Good luck there. And on that note if you need to hire an artist, always look for them as soon as possible (I had exceptional bad luck there and I'm trying since almost a year now to get a handful of sprites done.....at least the latest artist I got is reliable and gets the things done, but before t...

What do you like in Creepy/Horror Games?
I ask this question as someone who has watched a ton of horror movie, owns and plays horror games regulary (from commercial to indie ones) and also enjoys reading scary literature. So please don't feel tempted to give me a general "Maybe first watch some movies" answer. I noticed that there are espe...

Re: Question about Possibilities in Ren'Py (solved)
trooper6, don't worry. You didn't insult me, I was just a bit irritiated ^_^ And Elmiwisa, I realize that everything is IN THEORY possible. I asked it specifically with the actual possibility, meaning "could one or two humans alone be able to program that, would Ren'Py be able to properly process it...

Re: Could an English VN do well in Japan?
Well, but to go and say, that especially Japan should like it... Well, there are criteria to make a game popular in Japan. If those are fulfilled, then there is a chance. If not, then not. But usually, a very well made game always has a chance. I mean, look at the RPG Maker games "The Witch House", ...

Re: Question about Possibilities in Ren'Py
Thanks for your answers, I'm happy to hear, that it is possible. And Trooper6, I asked, because I am more comfortable with Ren'py, but if those things wouldn't work, I would be forced to make that game in RPG Maker. And I know about the window change, but I want to make a full screen game with good ...

Re: Awesome Game, Terrible Final Boss Battle
Star Fox Adventures. As someone who loves adventure games and had never played any Star Fox game before, I really enjoyed the game. Sure, it was kind of cliche and stuff, but it didn't take itself too serious with that. But even though the whole game, you play one of those starship shooting levels t...

Question about Possibilities in Ren'Py (solved)
I don't ask for the codes already or anything, I just have a few general questions. I plan out a game in my free time, but I don't know, if I could actually make it with Ren'Py, so I just ask this now, so I know, if I should concentrate on the RPG Maker instead. It is a simple list and a yes/no answ...

Notes, Sketches, Maps - how do you plan your games?
Well, since this is the CREATOR discussion area, a very simple question. How do you process the way from idea to actual creation? I can imagine various ways, from sketchbooks over a digital folder to something like "I do it directly in full HD" So share your procedure, maybe others can get a hint or...

Re: Could an English VN do well in Japan?
Well, I am in Japan right now, and I think, the biggest problem, even more then getting people to know it, is the language. I am studying here (and every school has to teach english here) and I can only talk properly with maybe 11 japanese students. Most japanese have great trouble with the english ...

Re: Cards of Destiny (Love, Drama, Magic, BxB)
There hadn't been any news about this game for a while and I have time now, so I update what is going on with this right now, since some people might actually wait. This game is on a break right now. Two reasons for that: 1) University I am on a exchange term in Japan right now, so I am very occupie...

Re: Methods to keep you focus on writeing.
There is actually a quite easy trick: chewing gum. Don't believe it? Try it out. Chewing "chewing gum" is a very simple and effective thing to improve learning, writing or whatever. The slight taste (AFTER the main taste is gone, so maybe start chewing before you start your action) will keep your mi...

Re: What does people misunderstands about you?
1) Many people think that I am unforgiving. Even all kinds of horoscopes, from chinese, moon or zodiac sign to my blood type, tell me that I am supposed to be unforgiving. Well, the fact is that there is only one person that I am unwilling to forgive. And only because she had gotten me almost killed...
