Re: your fetish?

Apparently I'm a complete shotacon, to my dismay and my sister's amusement. She likes bishonen, as something that's not much a surprise. I also like: --weirdly unique character designs --facial markings --vests --stockings --palm gloves --kuudere --snarkism --multicolored hair --flippant personaliti...

Re: Outlandish Move [wip][edu][lang][rpg][school-based]

I'm excited to bash my head against the wall until I reach England. I'm studying Japanese, but let's just say I'm better at speaking than reading. The cube-head Luffy is the best thing I've seen in ages, but it's also a bit of a relief he won't actually be there haha. Your game looks and sounds very...

Re: What are your currents favourites?

Hmm...Pandora Hearts, Hinekure Shisho no Mikaiketsu Jikenroku, Soul Eater, Library Wars, and Eyeshield 21, for my top five. Three out of five for shounen...ah well.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?

I normally play whoever has a better character design or design options. Or, perhaps, the better personality, as such I usually tend to play as guys since the popular character types for females normally annoy me. I do prefer playing as girls though.

Re: Ideas for great one-liners (was: Lines Dump)

"There are no stupid questions, but there are a ton of inquisitive idiots."

Most of my unused lines have always been much too sarcastic for the particular work I was doing. So I tuck them away in the novels I write.

"You can use both idiots and scissors, but you can't let an idiot use scissors."

Re: Modus Operandi [GxB] [Murder Mystery]

Some choices will be based on facts previously stated, like remembering the time, or person, at an area, or what you found where, just to make sure you are paying attention. Allow me to demonstate my appalling ignorance of RenPy. So rather than, "The murder happended at..." [choice boxes] "0230" "0...

Re: Modus Operandi [GxB] [Murder Mystery]

As someone beating his head against his own VN... As a mystery, is it a matter of choice flags from clue to clue? Follow the wrong clues to a bad end... or just a false end? As an engineer, I was trained to "follow the yeses" to a conclusion to solve a problem... a mystery like this would either ha...

Re: Elemental: The Princess of Avalon

Firstly, I doubt you have to worry too much about stealing as most people here are mature enough to generate their own good ideas. Second, welcome! Your story sounds pretty good and I look forward to when you update this topic with pictures and more information. It's a bit surreal to suddenly group ...

Re: Top 5 Favorite Visual Novels

1: Wand of Fortune II Love the characters, the artist, Usaba Kagerou, is amazing, everything was great. My favorite game of the series so far. 2: Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice The Ace Attorney line is a classic, and each game reminds me why I love visual novels so much. Deducing is the best thing pos...

Re: The Loop [Thriller/Puzzle]

Heck, it sounds awesome. Puzzle thrillers rank up in my favorite genres of all time, and yours looks fantastic. It's too bad the clown isn't chaseable /bricked but it seems like the kind you find in many point and click games. For example, Stray Souls: Dollhouse. That one also had a clown in it. If ...

... just make sure you aren't writing them like an actual short story or novel. What I meant was, writing VNs the same as novels is normally disastrous. Ex: "Yamada was a quirky fellow with blue hair and dark skin." As this is a visual novels, the player can see that for themselves. Some also pile ...

Time travel...! I absolutely love time travel, even when they go against everything I believe in haha. This looks like it will be fun to play and you've made some good progress. Even the logo looks fantastic. Looking forward to it.

Re: Advice needed for beginning writer

For a beginning writer, it's no problem to start with visual novels, just make sure you aren't writing them like an actual short story or novel. The best way to get good at visual novels is by reading a lot of visual novels. You could browse around finished games here or on online sites, or play pop...

It looks simple and fun. The GUI fits it well and I like how everything looks. Sprites looks great too....looks like a refreshing change of pace from your standard game.
