Those pose itself is looking much nicer, but the hair is a bit big.
The head could benefit from being larger as well, I just didn't mess with it in the paint over.
Keep it up!

Re: I Need Your Critiques (Update: I'm Using Your Critiques)
lolol! Love it.OMG body hair, I don't understand you.
The placement looks good. The only thing I can suggest for it looking too rough is to either try it with a brush set to pressure sensitivity (if you use a tablet?) or try turning down the opacity a bit, maybe to 90 or 80%

Re: The Floating Isles - VN [updated 10/5/12]
I love these! Umm... but may I ask if the manticore's tail comes out of its butt or it's tailbone *blush* because drawing 2 made it look like it's coming out of its butt... feel your spine until it you get to your coccyx, the tail should drawn a bit higher than the butt area. Love is good! It makes...

Re: The Floating Isles - VN [updated 9/20/12]
:A: the art you are doing is AWESOME. Pretty pallete, nice expresions and poses on characters and holy moly those backgrounds! I always liked fantasy settings so I will be watching this. Thank you :D I'm definitely learning a lot by taking on this project. I want to get chapter 1 drawn and coded so...

Re: The Floating Isles - VN [updated 9/20/12]
@Camille
Yea, that's a good point. I'd really like to get to place where I could start picking up some proofreaders and such. Soooon!
In other news..
I totally started on some CG scenes.

Re: Critique on a first attempt at actually drawing
You're doing very well for how little you've drawn before, keep it up! The hair looks better as a solid color than it does with the scratchy shading on the previous two attempts. I've done a paint-over since it's easier than trying to explain, and I thought it might help you out to see it. The red l...

Nice lines and shading style; very ethereal looking.
Is the armor supposed to define her nether regions and follow the curve of her body like that? It just looks a bit like vagina armor O:
P.s. I like the boots :3

Re: Ookami's (Uncanny Valley) Doll
If that wasn't the effect you were going for, here are a few tips on how to help! Firstly, if she's looking down, her eyelids will lower a bit more. I also darkened them so that they're not fuzzy around the eyes and sort of vague. I put small ridges around her nose to define it more Lightened her co...

Re: How long do you take to create a piece of art?
Visual novel sprites aside (They suck down time like leeches) I generally spend an hour to 4 hours on a full body, painted image. (1 hour for very lightly painted, 4 hours for heavily so). I generally have issues spending more than 5 hours on art piece, but that's not necessarily a good thing, since...

Re: The planning and creation of CGs
I try to use dutch angles and such because I think it breaks the static perspective of sprites and backgrounds you usually have going on on-screen :P It gives more of a dramatic sense and remarks the moments as being "special", imo :) I agree with that bit. Seeing a nice CG sort of fade in at a fun...

@Mangafee I did a quick paint over to see if I could help out with the shirt. I like where you're going with the image :) Keep it up! -Shortened his left arm a bit, made his right sleeve shorter -Defined the jeans on his bum -Tweaked the shirt to billow from the wind and expose part of his bum/back ...

A lineart commission for Rairetsu on subeta!
I've begun to practice body shape and face shape just recently, so I thought I'd test it out.

Main Character: Not visible, half body or bust view?
If a VN was going to have the main character visible, which method would you prefer? Or do you just enjoy not seeing them at all, so you more easily fall into the persona of the main character? A bust shot in the corner of the text box that changes expression? Or a half body/thigh high up image that...
