I think the first and last questions really need the answers as the middle two I feel make very little difference to the end product. This does look like a neat project, but I have to ask, what are you doing that you need quite so many software developers? Are you adding some type of game play feature that Ren'Py doesn't natively have? I mean 17 is a lot.

Have you considered using a simple cypher like Rot13 or an additive cypher? Both of these will hide what is actually being said, but a person could figure out what it is that they are saying.

I think if you lean to heavily on the former you'd come out with a game like Infinite Game Works which isn't a bad thing per-say but not really what we're talking about.
