Re: Darkening Non-Speaking Sprites

Thanks Donmai!

I guess using _last_say_who with ConditionSwitch will do the magic.

[solved] Darkening Non-Speaking Sprites

Hello! I'd like to darken the sprites of characters that are not speaking, like on this image: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/g8xMveubaSw/hqdefault.jpg There's a way to do this automatically? I'd like to avoid changing them manually like this: show lucy darkened show eileen normal eileen "Lucy is darkened."...

Re: Ren'Py's Self-Voicing option and regional letters

Hiya,

According to the docs: "Ren'Py relies on the operating system to provide speech synthesis services. To adjust the speed of speech synthesis and the voice used, adjust your platform's speech settings."

So check if your OS speech synthesis service supports your needs ^^

Re: Get Image Position

You can try this, screen will act as a timer reporting the values. It should work: Oh, so that's how we do it on the smart way haha. I understand but it seems the code is behaving just like mine. On the log we just get "0,0" recorded, the positions are not being updated. I assume that you understoo...

Re: Get Image Position

Your code was very helpful, thank you xela! I changed it a bit and got some questions. screen ball(ball): text "[ball.xpos], [ball.ypos]" default xy = "%d,%d" % (ball.xpos, ball.ypos) timer 0.1 action (SetScreenVariable("xy", xy + " _ %d,%d" % (ball.xpos, ball.ypos)), renpy.restart_interaction) repe...

Get Image Position

Is it possible to store the position of a image while it's moving? Something like this: transform move_ball: xpos 0.5 ypos 0.15 linear 2.0 xalign 0.0 ypos 0.1 image ball = "ball.png" show ball at move_ball python: while True: x = ball.xpos y = ball.ypos renpy.log(x+","+y)

Re: Rhythm Game on Renpy

Thank you again xela. I could make the zoom work, but for some reason the xy position is not changing at all. I commented the xy position code on the RhythmD class so it's not really conflicting with that. Any idea why this is happening or how can I fix it? transform transform_name(td): subpixel Tru...

Re: Rhythm Game on Renpy

Haha yeah I think the way you see how to handle music is a better approach, thank you for the advise xela. I've been studying and experimenting the code you provided and I could make some changes I wanted. I had never seem something like this before so it was quite complicated in the beginning. Ther...

Re: Rhythm Game on Renpy

Wow, the example you provided is really awesome! I liked your suggestion a lot! The 1st attachment is really cute and seems to be smooth to handle, I'll try to follow this design. I'm still having a hard time with the music though. I'm not sure if this is a good approach on how to handle it, but wha...

Re: Rhythm Game on Renpy

Thank you xela! Ah, indeed, the bg I talked about was quite big, I gotta admit. I'm glad you're positive this gonna work with renpy! If you say so, I believe haha. For now the graphics are not that important. I just need to make a working prototype, so I know what to ask for my artist later. We'll p...

Re: Rhythm Game on Renpy

Thank you guys. Right now I'm more worried about how to handle the music itself than the graphics. How to make the music react based on the player input for example. But I also think that maybe this is too much for renpy to handle. So many things moving on the screen at the same time. I made a simpl...
