Re: WIPs and Effort : A Recent Trend

Mugged an old friend of mine after I saw this coming up again. Most of it doesn't relate to Recruitment, but WIP instead. Advice for promoting your work? Sure! There are three key pieces I think your readers need. 1. If you don't have the fame, you need to have everything together. Only those with a...

Re: FOLKS PLEASE STOP THESE PLACEHOLDER THREADS.

It scares me that this conversation is still going on. I've seen one, maybe two, placeholder threads outside the spam ones. Honestly, I think the best idea here isn't a long debate or tons of new rules but to poke Py'Tom several times to hurry up so I can play... *poke* :D I never did play the origi...

Re: WE NEED MORE LIGHT AND FLUFFY STUFF!

Sigh... v.v Had to give up on the vampiric catgirl. Settled on a energetic, bubbly homicidal angel schoolgirl instead. ;_; This schedule is killing my ability to add moe elements into my projects and have it make sense. >.<

Evil moe FTW!!!

*Goes back to watching the other projects*

I'm not gonna go into my usual evaluation rant, because I can sum up my feelings easily this time.
MEANY! Making me both cry and smile. ^_^ Thanks for making my Christmas a little more warm and fuzzy.

Re: How far is Too Far

*Tosses off his lurker status for a minute while humming " Everyone's a little bit racist "* My opinion (Because it's worth so much): Pick a mix of #1 and #2. If you feel you've gone too far, tone it down. Also, make sure you clearly warn folks and don't include anything too harsh in "public space" ...

Re: My first game, Another Day

I keep getting an error when I try to run the file, but I think I know the problem! When you completed the game, did you go to Tools: Build Distribution? That should compile the game into a zip folder (And Mac and Linux equivalent)), which should be put up for download instead of just the .exe. Putt...

Re: Criticism and Pushing the Envelope

But then, this is one of the lessons that only comes with experience. So if you want to create your epic visual novel, then I invite you knock yourself out. I mean, I'm pretty sure most people came here because of Key, Nasu, Stage Nana or some other big name Japanese visual novel maker, so it's onl...

Re: Dreams of the Skies

As for how the game felt story-wise, I think it was a really nice story, a bit poetic, but maybe that was the purpose, and if it was, it worked well. Actually, it's just about perfect, but what I didn't really understand was: The names Death and Life. I instinctively tried to put some symbolic mean...

*Whistles* Okay! Gonna try my best to address two people at once! Art- Yep! I openly admit I'm not an artist. I wanted to try and see how it would look if I tried to do the art. Clearly, I have not developed my skills enough to try again for a while. Not saying I'm never gonna do sprites again, but ...

Re: Criticism and Pushing the Envelope

Numerical ratings (or even digg-like liked-it/didn't-like-it ratings) serve an important purpose. We have more than a hundred games. That's already too much for a person to read all the reviews in a short amount of time. If each game had, say, four reviews, you're talking about reading a book befor...

Re: Criticism and Pushing the Envelope

Hmmmmm... As much fun as big committees and advanced rating systems are, they have the problem of never getting done. Well, since I'm stalled for money right now (Can't donate plasma to pay the bloodsucking artists x.x) and I don't want to gouge any more eyes, I think my new project is going to be s...
