Re: Making Otome Games

This sounds intriguing, but like the person before me stated, having a plan before you go ahead would definitely help get peoples' attention if you want to recruit writers or artists. Of course, there are lots of people with their own ideas, but whether or not you would be prepared to work on them (...

Re: Ideas Dump

This is one idea I've spent several days mulling over, attempting to go at it from different angles. The main thing holding it back it working out what the best way would be to implement it, setting-wise. It's a Raising Sim game, but instead of controlling a princess/prince, you are either an orphan...

Re: SUSTAINABLE, EPISODIC and RECYCLABLE SHORT GENERIC VN

Oh god yes. I cannot love this project more. Unless you somehow stuck an environmental club in. Now that would make it sustainable in more ways that one. I would also write the shit out of it, as someone during environmental studies that has seen all types of people and been both in and out of schoo...

Re: Your thoughts on a "No Major Choices" option.

I would encourage having this as an unlockable option, rather than available at the beginning. It would offer an incentive to play through the game at least once; other than that, go for it. Re: Visual Novels: Should We Abandon the Term? And How?

I guess it's not necessary to rebrand VNs if the term "visual novel" ends up becoming more popular, but at the moment, if you're using Western-style art in your game, I think calling it a "visual novel" and nothing else dramatically limits your audience to a handful of people. (I think the case is ...

Re: How many tracks...?

There's more than one philosophy when it comes to composing music for video games in general. The selection of music for a project depends on a number of factors, which have been mentioned above by various people. I'll try and break down my take on the matter, hopefully without repeating verbatim wh...

Re: Guestbook

Yo, I'm from Sydney, Australia. I'm interested mainly in games with VN elements, such as Raising Sims and RPGs, but that's just my preference. I'm definitely not an anime nut (though I probably have the potential, I've only watched a handful of shows), but I love writing, character development, worl...
