Re: The Edutainment Discussion Thread

Not only that, but people may resist education simply because they have their own psychological barriers, telling them that education must be difficult and stressful. People are far less likely to resist if they see it as an enjoyable experience, where they can just enjoy, and by the time they are ...

Re: The Edutainment Discussion Thread

My initial thought is that they probably aren't going to be very popular ... ever. I think games that encourage tangential learning would be much more effective. A lot of the new words in my vocabulary from age 8 - 12 came from video games, mostly RPGs. I'd see a word which was important to understa...

This sounds amazing -- downloading now :D Edit: I got to the first line of dialogue, sat there for a moment, and then cracked up laughing. This seems promising. Edit #2: I ... won? You think!? I ... don't know if I can handle the ambiguity! This was definitely amusing to play, though I think that co...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I agree that it doesn't look overdone -- maybe the bare midsection and comparatively simpler dress helps balance it out and give your eyes a place to rest? I don't really know much about art, especially character art. All I know is I like it.

Re: Will people actually read a KN?

Also, it just occurred to me that, while you may have to work harder (or smarter; i.e., finding the right audience*), you do have the advantage of writing only one story. That means you have a lot more time and energy to devote to polishing that, rather than writing several routes. And the writing o...

Re: Will people actually read a KN?

I'll read it if the story sounds interesting and the art is palatable, although the art is probably a lot less of a factor. The art and music don't need to be amazing, just come together in a way that accentuates what the writing is trying to convey. In my opinion it's better to do what you want to ...

Re: Lemmasoft Recruitment Forum

Honestly, I'm not sure that this is a problem worth addressing - it doesn't seem to be happening more than once or twice a week. What's more, I'm not sure that it's actually a problem. It's not like people are rushing to join up to poorly-written recruiting threads. And it's probably better to see ...

Re: Is it legal to create VN backgrounds with online program

While I agree Blender looks intimidating when you start, there's a lot of good tutorials and a community out there to help. The GUI certainly isn't a mess, but there are a lot of parameters you can tweak. The thing is, you don't have to -- you can leave most settings to default. You don't need to kn...

Re: Vector or Raster? What Art Program Do You Use?

I should preface by saying I'm mainly a 3D artist, but I do some 2D stuff. Personally, the thought of creating an entire image from scratch with vector points isn't inviting. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd go for large raster images when doing illustrations and save vector work for UI, log...

Lemmasoft Recruitment Forum

I keep an eye on the recruitment forum here and have noticed, as it seems others have, that a lot of similar recruiting missteps occur with some regularity. Which is pretty common on just about any forum -- no one's experienced from day one. Most people who make mistakes, once notified, take steps t...
