Re: Free Pose References for drawing characters!
Could you post a pose with a side angle arms crossed (male figure), a pose with both arms behind the head (male figure), a pose holding a wooden sword with both hands ( female figure). Thanks, I hope that these poses are managable. I just saw this post, sorry for the long wait, I'll try to make the...

Free Pose References for drawing characters!
VIEW THE WHOLE GALLERY OF REFERENCE POSES HERE: http://ryu-gi.deviantart.com/gallery/63157616/Figure-Stock Recently, I bought these special figurines that are made for helping artists. They can be pretty expensive, so I thought it would be a great idea if I started taking photos of them to help othe...

"A Date with Markiplier"-The Ren'py Version! [BxPlayer]
EDIT: 2/22/2017 at 11:30 pm: Another update fixing remaining problems has been released. [/u][/i][/size] So last week on Valentine's Day, YouTube star Markiplier put out a funny interactive movie called "A Date with Markiplier". I decided it would be a good practice to turn the whole thing into an ...

Re: Turning "A Date with Markiplier" into a full game, need
Thanks for the move, my bad. Also I did just figure out that the videos have to be placed in the image folder. I was able to find an OGV convertor online, so I was able to get a test working. I think I got it from here, thanks everyone.

Re: Turning "A Date with Markiplier" into a full game, need
Thanks for the responses, but I'm still wondering if there's a specific place I'm supposed to be putting the video files. Can they go in"images" or a separate folder?

Turning "A Date with Markiplier" into a full game, need help
Dunno if anyone here has seen this yet, but recently, YouTube personality Markiplier released a special video (more like experience) called "A Date with Markiplier", which is an interactive movie with branching paths, just like a VN. You can check it out for yourself here: yyU_1JD2wuA I'm trying to ...

Buttons on movies?
One of the things I wanted to do for my game is a Quicktime Event. I have some 3D modeling/animation skills and I was considering making some animated cutscenes containing these. Let's say for instance in my story, you're chasing a bad guy, and he's throwing stuff to try to stop you. As the object h...

Placing buttons on different parts of the screen?
Was wondering, In Ren'Py, is it possible to place buttons for choices on specific parts of the screen instead of the middle? Like, say for example you're presented with a picture of a room, and you have the option of picking up one of the items in it. The buttons would be places near the object that...

Video background for Title Screen?
I've been brainstorming on my game and I'm wondering if it's possible to have a video playing in the background for the title screen, like a short looping video. The VNs made in Ren'Py I've seen so far all use static images for their backgrounds on the title screen, and I'd like to make mine stand o...

Re: Starting my first VN, need some input!
Been brainstorming on the 8th member of Kieran's group. This is what I have at the moment, but I think the character still needs work. Edessa- An archer that abandoned the Arcturian army after seeing some of his comrades abusing their Halcynian prisoners. He instead chose isolation out in the wilds ...

Timed Descisions in Ren'Py?
I'm still in the writing stage for a VN game I'm working on, but I had a quick question regarding the Ren'Py Engine. I wanted my game to have heavier emphasis on making tough decisions, similarly to Telltale's "The Walking Dead". In that game the player is sometimes given only a few seconds to make ...

Re: Starting my first VN, need some input!
If this isn't the archetype of a Work in Progress / Ideas thread, I don't know what else it would be. Moved. Thanks, I didn't really know where to put this. First of all, I would just like to say that a VN can absolutely be a full-fledged 2D game. You seem to be looking down on the medium a bit - j...
