Karin Maaka is the main character of the manga/anime Karin (see the TV Tropes page on it - mild spoilers, but very useful information).
basically, she's a friendly (albeit shy) female reverse vampire that gets nosebleeds if she can't find a person to inject her excess blood into. I like her. <^-^>

Re: WE NEED MORE LIGHT AND FLUFFY STUFF!
(musical74 watches Mina bouncing around, practicing being a friend to pretty much everyone, and generally hoping someone can use her in the light and fluffy game) musical74: um, Mina, there's no garuntee that Angelic Carrot or Sake Bento or Dave the Twisted or MegaMan Z will use you in one of their...

Re: WE NEED MORE LIGHT AND FLUFFY STUFF!
NaNoRenO projects are started on March 1st at 12:00pm (or later) and finished by April 1st at 12:00pm. you'll know when it's going on by the death clock at the top of the forum (assuming PyTom still does that). as for ordering of scenes and directly related stuff... I have no earthly idea on how to ...

Re: WE NEED MORE LIGHT AND FLUFFY STUFF!
ah, yes. splicing stuff together, basically. I can work with that. as for deadlines... well, I dunno how much work these people are doing on their stories, but I'll personally be looking through them, testing them, possibly breaking them (I has tools to manipulate variables!), and possibly writing r...

Re: New Year's Eve VN project
well, I thought it over a bit more (and looked over what I already scripted and my story ideas), and I have decided to scrap this particular project in favor of one that I think will be better. the main reason I'm doing this is the fact that, quite honestly, the storyline feels too "forced" in my op...

Re: Request a Ren'Py wiki documention
Maybe we can do sth similar to the php user comments in that users may add a paragraph under the examples of their take/use/understanding on a function with the wiki singature element "--~~~~". Eventually someone in the know might have to weed out errornous 'comments'. I agree with this idea to a d...

Re: How to make one script document end and begin another one
I will add one more thing to this: if you know your script (when all the lines are added together) is gonna be large and have a lot of labels, find ways to appropriately categorize them and for each category, make a script file. just remember that you can't have duplicate variable names and/or label...

Re: Average reading speed?
I tend to read quite fast and still retain 99.9% of what I read. I can read through about two Xanth novels a day and still know what went on in it.

Re: WE NEED MORE LIGHT AND FLUFFY STUFF!
[ big post, trimmed to key points of interest ]Do you suppose we could all work on a big collaboration project? Here's what I had in mind: -Everyone interested can sign up to do a short kinetic piece. -Once we're done with ours, we send all our files to an editor who will work out any bugs on his e...

Re: New Year's Eve VN project
Well, I might as well put the basic details of the characters (since I've pretty much decided what characters I'm using in the story) and the setup on the story in better detail: The player's character (name prompted for immediately) is a very shy male person that is somewhere around the 17-18 age r...

Re: New Year's Eve VN project
blog updates are currently on hold (since I'm -not- at my computer - still have all of the renpy data, though. ^-^) anyways, for some reason, rioka, ALICE and the current GTK are not cooperating (DLL mismatch error - specifically, ALICE can't find a specific hook in some of the DLLs). I'll take a lo...

and the lack of any "winner" is part of the appeal of the NaNoRenO, IMO.

Re: New Year's Eve VN project
daily update: I didn't exactly get much done in terms of actual scripting, but I did do some brainstorming over where this VN is headed. I also (as of yesterday) got some artwork for Jake contributed. (courtesy Donom, IIRC - I forgot to log chats again >.<) @rioka>> thanks for the permission, I was ...
