Re: Ren'Py 6.9.0 Released
Can you try this fix to renpy-6.9.0/renpy/display/render.py? Seems to work, thanks. I seem to have spoken too soon - it will crash when trying to render offscreen objects. python: renpy.show('caption',what=Text('Boom!',color='#f00'), at_list=[Move((90,300,10,15),(90,-500,10,15),10.0),],) "..." demo...

Re: Ren'Py 6.9.0 Released
Er... it fixes the memory leak, but I bumped into a new bug now that it works... After a lengthy SG test session (that included wandering away from the computer for an hour), I saved the game, and it folded up and died with: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for ope...

Re: Ren'Py 6.9.0 Released
Okay, I just released a 6.9.0g. This release includes fixes for: - Delta's viewport bug. - Spiky's memory leak. (And what a pain that was, taking two days.) - Spiky's layout.button_menu() issue. - Cyrus_zuo's imagemap issue. In addition, I spoke to Delta and confirmed his most recent report was not...

Re: When to use pseudonyms and when do you use your real name?
If people really want to trace you, using pseudonyms won't help much in hiding your ID. Especially bigger corporation that have many kinds of resources and connections. So, to be safe, you'd better think that "They'd find out, for sure". So, when you're going to be interviewed, it's better that you...

Re: Visual Novel Project Seeking People With Interest to Help
Greetings, Matt-of-the-many-numbers. Your pitch gives the impression that Once Upon A Christmas Wish is intended as a commercial project - is it? And it certainly sounds like you mean to make it graphics-heavy (though I would presume that at least some of the images will find uses after the game.). ...

Button menus behaving strangely
For some reason, a script with layout.button_menu() commented out in options.rpy will display menus as button menus when started from the launcher - however, if I build distributions, the resulting distributions will display the choices in a default-styled Ren'Py dialogue window instead. I don't act...

Transformations leaking memory in 6.9.0
Demonstration code attached. I'm guessing that it's the new imagetransformation system that's leaking. On 6.9.0, memory use will slowly grow - if the loop ends at 90 iterations, the total memory used will be 66megsvirtual/34resident, if it ends at 30 it will only use 63virtual/31resident. On 6.8.1, ...

Here's a new version of pefile.py. Let's try it here, before I update the website another time.

Re: Ren'Py 6.9.0 Released
Okay, posted a fix to http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/releases/6.9.0 It attaches the icon successfully, but XP now complains that the app is not a valid win32 application (as does Wine, though it phrases it 'Bad EXE format for'). (Also, were there any problems with my Mac app bundle patch? I'll pro...

Re: Ren'Py 6.9.0 Released
Trying to build distributions for Science Girls on 6.9.0f, it crashed with the following traceback. Removing icon.ico works around the bug; the offending icon is at http://spikycaterpillar.dreamhosters.com/icon.ico . <U+FEFF>I'm sorry, but an exception occured while executing your Ren'Py script. Re: Ren'Py Roadmap
I've heard reports that it has, but that was a while back. The only problem would the CPU and memory usage, but iLiad has less of both. Netbooks are a better choice for most actual use. Current OLPC report: Ren'Py itself and vanilla visual novels seem to run OK on my OLPC. The OLPC default distribu...

Re: Ren'Py Roadmap
I forget whether I commented on this already or not, but I'd love to see auto-merged whitespace go away. (In large part because I'm picky about grammar and like to doublespace after periods.) This is incorrect, though. Most sources seem to agree that it's correct to leave one space after a period: ...
