Re: Is there any way to make this image look drawn?

depends largely on what you want to achive
you should experiment with various image filters in photoshop or gimp or whatever other software you are using
or you can just repaint

some other users of this forum probably have more experience in this than me

Re: Calling All Newbies?

I'm going to be less positive. My suspension of disbelief went to hell from the very beginning. There is a whole bunch of people for such an invasive surgery, more so if it's a large accident there be the matter of media and the whole hospital, HOW do they not know shes a girl? A face is a face, "cu...

Re: Help me find some background tutorials...?

I searched for them for some time but didn't really find anything usable. Mostly it's just observe from life and other artists, learn the elements, visualize, combine. And interior design is a whole science to study.

Feel free to chat me though, I'm happy to help to the limit of my own ability.

Re: Mystery mind fuck of sorts (want to help?)

Seeing there is a lot of response, I think we have a large chance to pull this off. It would be great if we can all get into some IM contact. Please note me your IM info or post it as a comment, if possible. You can find my aim/msn/yahoo on my profile What we will need: A writer (I will be happy to ...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I've been playing a little bit trying to get a hang of more realistic stuff lately. My art threads tend to die out whenever I make one so instead I'm leaving this here ; p

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

You seem to be getting rather defensive versus what is - On the contrary, I'm pretty sure I'm not more defensive than I was to begin with. Maybe you are just reading too much into what I'm saying. I'm a chatty person and I enjoy "some" level of heat in a discussion. But then, to be honest, if you'r...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

short stories are generally harder to write well Well is completely subjective. They certainly aren't harder to write decently. If anything they are much more easier from my consumer perspective. Most long stories suffer from overstretched boring repetitive action in general, and from many other pr...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

I think that's what you're not realizing about your answers. Your personal experience is not only not the experience of others, but not indicative of anything but what has happened to you. Certainly not indicative of the general populus. Alas, I read a lot of fiction and I see how the available amo...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

Well, here is another point that suggests it's not so simple as "writing is faster"... if your art workload can grow at a constant rate and your writing workload grows exponentially relative to the amount of content you're expected to produce, this actually would suggest that there is a threshold o...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

To compare direct examples, I found an average price for freelance online graphic artists (illustrators, visual artists, or however you wish to call that) to be about 10$ -20$ per character (this is my personal research), for what usually takes a few hours to draw. Compared to freelance online write...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

Finished writing is sometimes a much faster vehicle to deliver information to the reader, and it occupies less space, but that doesn't mean that it was quicker to create that finished writing in the first place. A sentence of prose takes much longer to 'write' than it does to 'type out'. Good write...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

I'm not sure what you think I am arguing. I was referring to the idea that "oh, well, 1000 words is not a lot and should be perfected in X time." And my comment was to say that "making 1000 words suitable for someone who wants them could take me as little as an hour...making it as good as -I- want ...

Re: Mystery mind fuck of sorts (want to help?)

This looks interesting, but how long a game are we talking here? Seems pretty extensive (that's not necessarily a bad thing). I will say that even if it is long, I would trust you completely in jumping on board as a programmer or writer. You have an elaborate profile on your website and I'm very im...

Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)

These are most common basic arguments each of the group holds to manifest their superiority over another. I don't think it means drawing or writing artists are superior over each other. I do think that both of those mediums are different. I think writing is much superior to graphic when it comes to...

Mystery mind fuck of sorts (want to help?)

I'm going to do something unusual (for me) and perhaps crazy. I have an interesting (hopefully) idea here, which at present is unlikely to be finished or even started any soon if at all, unless I find some other people to make this with (after last project I made, I feel doing another one alone woul...
