Re: In Search of a Coding Tutor/Instructor

Hi, welcome to the boards! About your post...it would be helpful to know what it is you're having trouble with. How much python do you already know? What are your prior coding experiences and in what languages? How complex are you planning on making your project? Do you know standard scripting termi...

Re: Lemmasoft Recruitment Forum

I thought the sticky was pretty useful when I signed up to the forums. It outlined some suggestions in a non-snarky or rude way. Even other members chimed in with their own ideas which gave me a feel for the forums. It's a shame many people choose to ignore it. So I throw my vote in to renaming it o...

@khfan12 You looks so much like my co-worker it's almost creepy. I'm gonna show this to her, if you don't mind.

Anyway, c'est moi.

Re: Recruiting a programmer (paid) for a small scale 3d proj

Yup, I definitely underestimated the amount of space it would be using. Ray casting would be a better choice here for sure. Unfortunately, my experience with ray casting is extremely limited. I tried to recreated the effect on love2D once after I saw a youtube video on how to do it—but I ended up gi...

Storing sprites [ show e happy ] in a variable [SOLVED]

I want to create a label based on location. When the player enters this location, I want the sprite to have the last mood I assigned it in a variable. In THEORY, a simple version of the code should look like this: image e smile = "smile.jpg" image e sad = "sad.jpg" $ eileenExpression = "" label mood...

Re: Does this pass as Hand-Drawn Background?

It looks computer generated for sure. But I've tried to do cel-shading and line art in blender and let me just tell you that it is not easy. So I can appreciate these backgrounds on a professional level. They're amazing. Actually, one of the reasons I decided to go into making VN's is because of thi...

Re: if statement expects a non-empty block

Whenever something says it "expects a non-empty block", then it means there's nothing indented after it when there should be. This! I battled with this issue FOREVER. Make sure you're indenting properly. In Python, you do not need to put semicolons after your statements (like in java, c++). It uses...

Re: Recruiting a programmer (paid) for a small scale 3d proj

Problem what I see is that its not only 4-5 pics but quite a lot more. If one goes down that route (I tried that one already with self made pics btw) its a lot more as you would need to make 1 pic for each possible situation (1/2 of the possible situations to be exact as you only need left side unt...

Re: Recruiting a programmer (paid) for a small scale 3d proj

Also... Have you considered having a 3D artist map a grid dungeon and take screenshots of of each angle? This way, when the player moves, the corresponding image is loaded. It gives the player the semblance of 3D without all the headaches when coding it. Sure, you'll end up with 4 possible (5 if you...

Re: Recruiting a programmer (paid) for a small scale 3d proj

As someone with a background on rendering 3D images and experience in 3D game programming (mostly using Blender, 3dsMax, and Unity) I feel I have to warn you that perhaps renpy/pygame is not the best choice for your project. Ray casting IS achievable on pygame which can run within renpy (or vice ver...

Yukari, I want to donate to this, but it looks like the indie-gogo campaign won't reach its goal...
Is there any way I can donate to your project directly?

And will the international release also include German as an option? Ich lerne Deutsch, aber ich bin nicht so gut. :(
