Re: Different Visual Novel Genres

I just want to see VNs that are science fiction or fantasy not a romance or comedy with a fantasy or science fiction backdrop. I want the game mechanics to actually reflect the universe it is set in and not just be centered on character interactions alone.

Re: Different Visual Novel Genres

It's good to hear that visual novels in the fantasy and science fiction genre are not as rare as I thought. While I'm not sure if I would actually develop anything in those genres I know I would like to play them.

Different Visual Novel Genres

So I'm not a long time fan of visual novels so I might be wrong with this but, I have noticed that most visual novels fall into the mystery, thriller, comedy, romance, or adult genres. Sure there isn't anything wrong with these genres but, I feel the visual novel can tackle other genres like science...

Re: Bakuman

I read the manga and watched the anime. The anime is worth a look because it has animated scenes from the anime shown in the manga and it is pretty well done. I loved Bakuman except for the fact that Nanimine was defeated so easily the second time and the female voice acting contest. Both of which w...

Bakuman

Anyone here fans of the Bakuman anime or manga? I really connected with this series because it is about an artist and writer teaming up to accomplish their goal of making a popular manga in Shounen Jump which is in a way similar to making visual novels with a partner.

Re: Welcome to the NHK

I liked Welcome to the NHK and that is saying something because I usually don't like slice of life anime. I recommend watching Bakuman, GTO, and Beck if you're like me and have trouble finding engaging slice of life anime.

Re: 5 Questions

Thanks! I made it mostly for practice so I could figure out how to use Ren'Py. Yeah I agree the clues could have been a little better.

Re: 5 Questions

It isn't finished but, at the time I had no idea I could attach files to a forum post so I ended up submitting it to the Ren'Py website so I could link to it. It is a self contained story but, I want it to be longer than it is currently.

5 Questions

So I made my first visual novel with Ren'Py. It's a short love story with twins. I made it mostly to practice but, I would love feedback on it. http://games.renpy.org/game/5_questions.shtml

Special Thanks to Anna for providing the character sprites.
