Re: Gore, Violence, Blood, Body Parts, Anatomy?

Learn muscular anatomy, figure out how cross sections of the body work. I took medical terminology class, I've seen some crazy birth disorders *shudder* and don't focus everything from blood. We all read enough manga, watch anime, and play enough games to see blood. if you want to take it further, f...

Re: Critiques and Words of Advice?

I'm just gonna give you some tips, since it seems everyone has critiques for you: 1. when drawing with a tablet, keep your eye on the screen and not on the tablet. Your canvas is your screen, not what's under your wrist (unless it's one of those sweet fancy tablets with the screen underneath) 2. if ...

Re: Is this style acceptable?

I don't mind at all. Mixing it up always makes it unique. I mean, the project I'm working on (it's in my signature)...well, it's way beyond anything like manga or semi realism. Also, don't force yourself to draw a certain way. Go with your OWN flow, do what you want. And if this is the style you lik...

Re: What do you consider bad art?

I'm an illustrator, and one thing that makes art good/bad is how someone can understand and pick up the idea immediately. Another one is how 'beautiful' something looks. People determine by how detailed something can be, how anatomically correct it can be, how much unique style is put in it, whateve...

ooh so the gradient is marker? One thing to note is to avoid large gradients with markers in general because markers dry in a matter of seconds. Everyone has their own methods, but the most popular method with gradients is to draw the color first, then use a colorless blender and swipe a bit on top ...

Re: First Person vs Third Person

I personally like first person more, just because it feels like you're walking in their shoes. The limit of that is what makes it feel exciting for me. However, there are moments where it's best to describe in third person, but mostly keeping it consistent is the best way. I would think mystery seri...

Re: 3D CUSTOM GIRL - Thoughts?

I was wondering what everybody thought about using the Custom Girl 3D model maker (http://3dcg.info.tm/wiki/3D_Custom_Girl_Wiki) as a character generator to use in visual novels...? I am not quite sure what the issue is with this character design generator thing, if there are a number of those that...

Re: Are these sprites acceptable for VNs?

I think you're going in the right direction, but your art direction might be a little off. As a tip, when you're outlining your character, use a smaller brush, or zoom in on your picture a lot more when lining. Also, if drawing traditionally is better for you, it doesn't hurt to try it out for a vis...

updated with a new map of the place. The incentive of the map is for the player to play the game more than once with a different character class. Only special places unlock if you play a certain branch of the story. Regarding the story, depending on the character class you choose, the setting will b...

Best way to contribute it so exercise it in the forum :]

I actually learned a huuuuge chunk of this while volunteering at an elementary school for two years. It has always come in handy since then. I guess you could say ten year olds taught me how to critique?

Re: Didules' randomness [(honest) critique are always welcom

Copics are fun indeed :P And there's no shame in photoshopping copics; the markers may be vibrant to some extent, but the colors often look slightly lighter/bland when scanned in. For me, it's inevitable to bump up the saturation for my pieces. I notice that the girls you draw all face forward, even...
