Well I tested czech characers in window_title again and I still get question marks istead of them (in windows, I compiled BeOS version of Ren'Py (5.5.3) and they work well there). Tehere's a chance it's caused by my windows an I will be doing reinstall this week so I test it again. (For those intere...

Yes it looks really goog, but IMHO it's too much blue. Make at least the text black (plus it should be a bit easier to read).ShiraiJunichi wrote:Ok, made a few changes, and put up some actual stuff to get a feel for it. I think it's looking really good.

My current thoughts are that if we want to wow people, we can do it with games, rather than with demos. Once we have the finished and approved Ren'Py logo (the Eileen+Python safari thing), authors could volunteer to include it in their already finished and published VNs (in the "Splashscreen" secti...

Nice. Comments: Some foreword would be nice (what are visual novels...). Also it's completly missing links to engine homepages and communities. Ren'Py being Pygame based possibly can run on other platforms supporting it (without sound). Audio support - Ren'Py support more module formats than just MO...

So this means that it will be actually main character explaining Ren'Py features and not Eileen? The it could have some kind of embarrassing end, where Eileen comes into his room, and sees what he's doing, or something. Why embarrassing? "My name is Eileen, and while I hope to one day star in a real...

As far as multiple demos go, I really don't see the point- except to have a game template that would need to remain simple- and that can be included with the original demo as an additional executable. "Separate" demos can just be logically divided within the same actual demo, if needed. I was a bit...

But this assumes we only have one upgraded demo. Which still doesn't solve the complexity problem. I think that too. It will be better to have several demos, each showing certain parts of Ren'Py capabilities (short kinetic novel for basics, advanced demo to show advanced things...) I guess it could...

Well I have been interested in making games for a long time. Just didn't managed to finish something. Even if it's just a portion of your script, every 15 minutes saved is good, IMO. Agreed. I use python scritp to turn something like this into Ren'Py script: :start save_name # comment $ stats = 0 # ...

Demos: -DSE can be used as dating simulator demo, but it doesn't have graphic. -I think there should multiple demos to show different things (and the demos should be separated into multiple files so people could easily find how things are done). And it might be good idea to move images into /game/im...

This is not very much US-related, but anyway... I can say that in my days I've written more than 15 bgame reviews for my club page, I've been presenting these games at cons for the last 2 years, often submitted news, but actually no one really cared. I mean there is what a handful of people from th...

Will do. I didn't know about this particular function, but I've tried it now and I appreciate how useful it is. You should read /doc/RELASING.TXT and you also should delete everything from /game/save/ before relasing. Not to say, of course, that higher quality art is easy to make, but it seems that...

I'd say this one is intended for the sort of person who's willing to reverse engineer some things in the binary. Decent disassembler + search and i have password for datafiles in while  Well hm... I'm lost... unless, again, you're talking about the picture seen during the secret ending ô_o. N...
