Re: May I ask where can I find high res format of image map?

The uncanny and legendary UNCLE MUGEN created a series of tutorials on how to use Sketchup for backgrounds, they can be used to create the same a map. https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=12389 His blog, with other examples and tuts: https://studiomugenjohncel.wordpress.com/2010/09...

Re: using a variable ground in a imagemap

Imagemap is not the best thing to use, an imagebutton look what you want to use instead.

Re: Turning a function into a creator-defined statement

@gas: Sure that this will affect anything? I'll give it a try tomorrow ... From the same docs: Creator-defined statements must be defined in a python early block. What's more, the filename containing the user-defined statement must be be loaded earlier than any file that uses it. Since Ren'Py loads...

Re: Having trouble with lines of dialogue changing based on previous choices made by player...

Set a default variable at the beginning of the script like default picked = True Later, in the menu, have the choices change the flag. menu whatever: "lucy": $ picked = True "eileen": $ picked = False at any point in the game, use an IF conditional to check the variable and change a line. label qhet...

Re: "label_name_declared" not found

Wrong indentation.
That's the correct one:

Code: Select all

    menu day_5_choice:

        "Who is going first?"

        "Okimi":
            jump 1st_Okimi_movie_honey_watch
        "Nagi":
            jump 1st_Nagi_color_wall_movie_watch
another bug:
jump to day_5_films_done

...to?

Re: Turning a function into a creator-defined statement

Write the thing in a script called something like '01mystates.rpy'.
And recompile the game.

Re: Imagebutton behavior when clicked

Has this still never been updated to behave the way the original poster hoped for? It does seem a little odd when you click down on your left mouse button while over an imagebutton, and before you release your finger from the mouse button, nothing immediately seems to happen giving you any feedback...

Are pijama/happy and swimsuit/happy two different images? If not, you don't need such hierarchy.

Re: Is it possible to change the overall hue of a Ren'Py Game?

As long as you work with 2 bits (pure BW) like World of Horrors, you can add a layer with a screen and a Solid tint with alpha < than 1.
You can so manipulate the tint and the alpha to reach for such effects.
I dunno what could happen with a native colored game, probably a mess anyway.

Re: Assign to lists with a condition [python]

Eh. I mean, the concept would be the same with different numbers. But I guess I can think of ways to do this but can't really offer any thought on whether it's "efficient" or not. I know it's a complicate question and probably tap into some complicate math function. The fact is I'm really math chal...

Re: Use LayeredImage attribute as a variable?

No, isn't possible. The same way you defined the image can't work.
You must create single animations. That's boring, but you can spare yourself a bit of pain by copy/paste and find/modify each definition.

Re: Assign to lists with a condition [python]

In your 6 characters / 4 times a week example, wouldn't it make more sense and be simpler to enforce that all days have three or four encounters (as opposed to a truly random 5 5 5 5 1 1 2 distribution, for example?) Then it would be a matter of distributing 24 cards into seven groups of 3/4 and th...

I believe it should be something like

Code: Select all

   @property
   def pos(self):
       return self._pos
Why @property? You can actually retrieve the property directly and change it at runtime. Isn't that redundant? Genuinely asking.
