Re: Making Memorable Characters

BlueB wrote: So to all you writers out there: how do you think writers can create memorable, interesting characters that grab a readers attention?
The easy way is to make them funny.

The hard way is to give them depth.

Re: Managing Motivation

I second 'Flowers from Nowhere' when they said to just write. You can get stuck on a scene for days, weeks, months or years until you actively sit and down and try to work through it by writing. Also, try writing a VN without planning. Some people will plan a story but then find they have no inspira...

Looks incredible. If the writing is as good as the artwork, you'll have a fantastic game on your hands.

Re: Writing a Blind Protagonist

Or should I make my readers "blind" to the settings as well? Would it frustrated them, for the lack of details of everything? Don't do that. Blind people are aware of their settings using a different process, so describe that process. As for the art, I think it might be worth considering using the ...

'Don't use first person unless you have an interesting main character' is the best advice I've heard given on the matter.

Re: WRITERS!!

People shouldn't take the exam seriously. It was a light hearted article hitting out at the derivative nature of the fantasy genre back in the days when it was still incredibly derivative. It's like a decade old, and it was, and still is, pretty funny. It's also making fun of the fact that a lot of ...

Re: Magicians of Delphine[GxB][BxB][Otome][Fantasy][Dating S

I know there's probably not much to go on, but does the premise at least sound somewhat interesting? :S Would it be a game you'd be interested in playing? Can I ask what about it is interesting or not interesting to you? (Gameplay plan, plot, characters, art, etc) It looks amazing, but having diffe...

Re: List (or filter) of visual novels by quality?(DIWIC?)

In arguments like this I always point to Quantity Always Trumps Quality . If your intention is to produce a 'quality' game, then it will be lost in development hell. If your intention is to produce a lot of games, regardless of quality, you will eventually start producing better games (through tria...

Re: Your first ever video game.

Some text based adventure which was frustrating as hell. Couldn't get the computer to recognise most of my commands, so in frustration I accidentally (on purpose) stabbed one of the characters with a pair of scissors, which sent him screaming out of the room to alert the guards. It was very satisfyi...
