I get the impression that most people think that a game's culture is incredibly obvious. While this may be true for longer, commercial games, I think that for smaller, fan made games, it won't be so obvious. I mean, names of people and places will give you an obvious idea of where it's set, but actu...

My dilemma isn't making sure no one finds out what I'm doing- I can do that on my own. It's to get media for my game through the correct channels. I had read shizeetv2's post before, but I had forgotten about it. Thanks for bringing it up, I'll be sure to contact him

Yeah- just set the input to a variable:

$ variable_name = renpy.input("A question")

And then just insert it like so:

"ShiraiJunichi" "Your answer to the question was %(variable_name)s"

At least, that's how it's coded in the demo

I'm glad to see people are ok with, or even in favor of, this. I'm not really interested in saying "This is Japan"- the actual location isn't too important I think. In fact, in all the ren'ai games I've played, they didn't say a single thing about what Country the story took place in. All I'm intere...

As a matter of fact, there are at least two Chocobo mambos... ;_; They also have other songs like "Ghost Busters", "Genie in a Bottle", the theme from Mission Impossible, etc. But a lot of the midis sound completely unique, but I haven't heard all the music in the world of course... Man! Why do peop...

oh, ok. Well, I was asking because I had found some freeware media resources online here , but they contain midis of some well known songs- including some final fantasy themed music. But I guess that means it isn't actually freeware... So I guess I shouldn't use any files from that site- even the on...

In general, it's okay to reimplement something like a program, or tell a similar story, as long as you don't copy the text, or use the same characters and/or setting. This is called the idea-expression divide, and it says that while it's okay to use the ideas in a story, it's not okay to retell the...

Occidental, or Oriental?

Since these games are originating in English, do you think they should use western culture? Or should they use Japanese culture, because that's where the genre first came from? On one hand, I'd really like to use Japanese culture, to give the game the same kind of flavor that most anime has. But on ...

BL is right. We should stop arguing about mis-spellings. It's pointless. This forum is about Shoujo Attack- not how to spell. I think it is possible to write strategies for Shoujo Attack. Such as listing unconventional ways of using certain skills- like using the Demon skill not to dig down deeper, ...

New download works correctly. Just downloaded it, and unzipped it without a single problem. For anyone who's interested, the way I fixed it before the download was changed, was by loading the zip file with WinRar, double clicking the single file that it said was all the zip file contained, which the...

I think it's somewhat cruel to announce the details of a game, and then not finish it. So I'd reccomend delaying announcement until a complete draft of the script is finished True, very true. It's not very nice to waste someone's time and anticipation with something that will never be. So I'll post...

Yeah, I'm not planning on putting everything on hold until I get an artist. I just figured the sooner I asked, the more likely I'll get a timely response. I'd really rather not completely finish the game, and then have it sit for a long time until the art is completed. Thanks for the advice though

I don't really want to take sides, but I agree with Megaman Z that a strategy guide includes a lot of stuff besides solutions. Perhaps the tutorial Ezzetabi is making would be more properly called a answer guide- or cheat sheet. To turn it into a strategy guide, you'd need to have some basic info, a...

Looking for background artist...

I'm looking for an artist to make some anime style backgrounds for my game. Some backgrounds I think I'll need are
Bedroom
Library
Park
Classroom

... and probably more too. Nothing's really definite yet. If you'd like to help, let me know- thanks
