Re: On Asking Questions

So is there a way to add tooltips to normal choice menus? (For example) Choice: Neutral Reaction: ((^--Sample hovered Tooltip: You attempt a poker face.)) Positive Reaction: ((^--Sample hovered Tooltip: You attempt to innocently change the subject.)) Negative Reaction: ((^--Sample hovered Tooltip: Y...

Re: Hovered images and text on ordinary dialogue choices?

Yes, the tool tip is more what I had in mind, though the background image seems like it could also be useful to learn, concerning my purposes. As for the image inside the choice button, I already have that figured out... Months ago. :?

Hovered images and text on ordinary dialogue choices?

Okay, its probably a stupid question here, but the development and various tutorials on dialogue options just aren't cutting it, as they merely explain how choice trees work, and not how to add functions to the dialogue or image buttons themselves. But what I want to do is fairly simple, so I'm pret...

Re: GUI and Logo Inspiration?

Not an artist myself, but I did decide the general aesthetics for the design. For starters, look at the over all themes of the visual novel, then decide something symbolic of it, choose a color palette which kinda embodies said themes, ect. That's really the only advice I could give. What is your VN...

Re: curousity: create a secret event when playing new game p

I'm actually playing around with the idea of a protagonist who is a reincarnation of himself from a different timeplane after the player makes his first playthrough, which in turn grants him with newly added dejavu scenes and some new options in old choices that were not present in the first playthr...

Poor Elmvine. That sucks. I would hope that isn't a common occurrence or anything.

Re: What are some Do's or Don'ts in your opinion?

Do: Take other people's advice into account. Don't: 100% obey it. Because you'd be denying yourself the opportunity to either: 1 | Learn exactly WHY the advice is important (Learning for yourself can be much more valuable in growing your skill) 2 | Innovate what was previously accepted as wrong by t...

Re: notes on assets during writing or after?

I've been sitting on the question for a while, trying to find an answer through the forum. But I can't really find what I'm looking for. I have a lot of characters in my novel. Many side characters won't even have sprites and might not be shown (on screen) at all. Being that I don't have much exper...

Re: Protagonists in Dating Games Are Too Unrealistic?

I also don't see why lack of confidence/extroversion is being talked about with such negative connotations. Tons of great people have trouble dealing with their introversion and reaching out to others. That doesn't mean they're any less great, they just have a (might I remind, very common) communic...

Re: How is your project going (or not going)?

Well, the writing side is seeing simultaneous stagnation AND leaps forward as strange as that sounds, and the art side is actually progressing rather nicely despite two concept artists having their hands full. The expressions for my third character sprite are pending, but likely soon to arrive. (So ...

Re: Voice your Narrator or not?

Self insertion only worked in a few cases for me. With legend of zelda, I always saw Link. The silent protagonist thing never changed that. With Persona 3 and 4, strangely, self insertion worked to a small degree. Though it led me to create more of a separate character based off of me. With skyrim, ...

Re: Huge scope for first project

But lately I've been hearing everywhere doing your first project with a really big scope is a TERRIBLE idea. It's hard to motivate yourself, it's hard to start and it's hard to find things to work on. Not to mention the lack of experience to make something good. You know, I keep hearing this myself...

Oooh, it took me a while to figure out what you guys were referring to. See, I saw "Non-Binary" and my first thoughts were Fuck yeah! I have a nonbinary plot in the mix too! I'm so sick of two way choices in games claiming they truly tailor the story to the gamer's experience! Even if it's a b...

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?

Honestly people, I'm perplexed to see a lot of the anime up listed up here. Like it's almost as though nobody has ever witnessed a truly bad anime before. Okay, so Mars of Destruction has been listed a few times, and I certainly agree with that, but for most of these... I mean sure, there are plenty...
