Re: Memories of Summer Winds [BxG] [Romance][Tragedy][Dem Fe
I love it! I mean like I'm no artist, so I can't judge art like those with a trained eye can, but I see no imperfections in the anatomy and I like the colors! The art style kinda looks familiar though, and I can't figure out why. Has Nobutsuna (I'm assuming is the sprite artist since that's who's li...

Re: [UPDATE] Memories of Summer Winds [New Logo PG-8]
Why have I not seen this game project yet? I've been sifting through thousands of Otome/Yaoi games all week to find a project like this! -sets up camp and starts reading obsessively through all the posts- http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/Rubberpenguin/a1036e93-8647-4b16-9c73-6c362cef2126.jpg Bu...

Re: How does a script writer(producer) works with artist?
From my experience, being very visual certainly helps too, especially if english isn't your artist's first language. I found recently making a reference sheet similar to this really helps me get an accurate result to the kinda look I was picturing in my head. As for keeping an artist, I dunno really...

Re: Question about the MC appearance on screen?!
I actually prefer B, I've noticed. Not only in games I've played, but its kinda what I'm going for in mine too. I mean having the character appear on screen as a sprite is kinda distracting. I probably won't even notice having nothing to reference the character, which works fine in games where the p...

Re: When making OCs and their backstory just....
@Kisa: Such is the curse of any development forums I've found. The RPGMaker VX forums are really no different. Answering so many advice threads on creation just kinda naturally conditions us to feel the need to want to make most of our posts about giving advice. Sometimes I just have to go "Stop it!...

Re: Does a long intro disinterest you?
Side note: I think dropping the player directly into the argument (maybe with a h/vpunch) would be interesting. It would certainly get my attention. However I have no idea what the rest of your game is like, and this could be very jarring compared to the rest of your game so, grain of salt. Thats b...

Re: Romance VNs/Dating Sims are dubious manipulation games?
There is a concept known as "Ethnocentrism" in which someone evaluates other people, cultures, and in this case, game mediums as according to the standards of their own culture, or perceptive definition of write and wrong. And as a writer, you should NEVER try to infringe your own creative liberties...

Re: When making OCs and their backstory just....
You need to give your characters something to grapple with to make the drama. Otherwise why would anyone want to read it if all the characters do is contend with normal every day stuff [kinda boring]. Unless of course your character is homeless and still trying to balance a school/social life, home...

Re: The "Unorthodox" Dating Sim/Otome Game?
Unorthodox otome game- otome game with asshole protagonist. Bishoujo games have included some pretty truly horrible protagonists (I'm not talking incompetent, or clueless, or insensitive, or indecisive- I'm talking just plain mean), but I've never seen an otome game do this. Just once I'd like to s...

Re: 2D Artist Available for Work~ :)
If you're still looking for work, I have a project that could use some character designs. Its been kinda hard finding an artist who draws male characters in a shonen art style: (Not like shonen Ai, just shonen. Though a bit of bishi wouldn't hurt since that would add to the versatility of the charac...

Re: What motivates you to make a VN?
My primary means of motivation is about the same as when I create online role-plays or D&D campaigns. I sit there and think "Boy, I really want to play in a game like this." So I look for it. Then I notice a scarcity in that sort of game, so I get kinda annoyed, and lower the standards of what I'm t...

Re: Survey on Visual Novel games
Art and story are both important to me in VNs and KNs. Though art I can be more lenient about, since most of the time its more of a first impression, and I have grown to love games that had somewhat sloppy art-styles. I've never really played any dating sim styled games where stats have come into pl...

Re: Training? Advice?
Well, I don't exactly have as much experience at writing as a lot of professionals on this site, but when it comes to gaming and visual novels, I have a simple formula that consists of layered outlines. Though my style is mostly intended for episodic novels where each "Chapter" has its own beginning...

Re: "Purity" in otome games
I'm asexual, too. I don't think anyone is saying innocent characters *shouldn't ever* be used (also, a character can be innocent without super playing up the absolute desirous nature of being "pure" and how important it is in a relationship.) Just that innocent characters shouldn't be *every main c...
