Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

I requested the week off from work, looking forward to working on Cafe Memoria most of the week. Then! Just last night, my computer BSODs (STOP F4), and refused to boot. :x Checked cabling, and whatnot. Took out HD, reseated it several times, didn't work. Unplugged / replugged everything, swapped ca...

Re: Memory usage logs, How do I generate and find them?

That's the problem, I have no Idea of how or where to insert them into my code, and don't have anything that even looks like that format. I'm sure the call line is stupid simple, but I would love to see an example of usage, which I've been unable to find. I'm pretty sure you can insert them (nearly...

Re: Memory usage logs, How do I generate and find them?

Have you tried the memory profiling functions?
http://www.renpy.org/doc/html/other.htm ... -profiling

They should generate a memory.txt in the game's base folder.

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?

Add this to one of my top favorites: Shirobako To be quite honest, I nearly quit watching this after watching the first episode, I felt so overwhelmed by everything happening so fast, and the sheer number of characters introduced. But, I gave it a chance, and I'm glad I did; this was an excellent se...

Re: Which Blog Site Should I Use?

The only other website editor I have used is Wordpress when I was volunteering. But compared to weebly it's slightly more tricky to use and a pain to install (but not overly hard). Plus you would have to pay for a domain. Um, you can always register a blog at wordpress.com, no need to pay for anyth...

Re: Love/Hate relationship with being a dev?

I have to admit the process of creating a VN is long and tedious (depending on the content / goals). And my fickle work schedule can drain me of energy to work on the project.

But I remind myself of the joys of working on the project, it's one of the things that drive me to finish it :D

Re: What was your first VN made like?

My very first VN used Flash (never heard of Ren'Py at the time), as a college art project. It appropriated artwork and music from another VN, had original voice acting (albeit not so great), and is fairly short. I would say it's kind of like a parody of a "dating sim". I wouldn't call it a game of q...

Re: Game Size & Downloading

A tool I use, and like to recommend - if you're using PNGs, try PNGGauntlet (Windows only) to compress them losslessly.

If you're using Mac or Linux you'll want to take a look at ImageOptim or Trimage.
