Re: Art critique please!

Thanks Akemicchi! Whoa, Deji, that tutorial is amazing ! You've just gotten yourself a new fan ^^ Adding to my notes... 0. DEJI's TUTORIAL!!! =D 1. Dynamic poses & silhouettes (SundownKid, truefaiterman, LateWhiteRabbit) - using waist shots, might try and improve on again later - keep in view (KIV) ...

Re: Dealing with criticism (aspiring VN creator)

Here I come meddling with the debate even though no one asked :D Sorry, just itching to reply... What I meant was that it is not an exaggeration to suggest that the desire to hold people accountable for freely offered words of criticism is an Orwellian one. Especially when the imagery used to descri...

Re: Art critique please!

Thanks LateWhiteRabbit! Adding to my notes... 1. Dynamic poses & silhouettes (SundownKid, truefaiterman, LateWhiteRabbit) - did waist shots instead - hopefully fixed this a little.. 2. Differentiate contrast, saturation, brightness between char & bg (truefaiterman, raistlintg) - hopefully this is pa...

Re: Art critique please!

Just taking down a few notes to fix the artwork... 1. Dynamic poses (Thanks SundownKid & truefaiterman!) 2. Add contrast to char & bg (truefaiterman) 3. Stronger lines, Saturation & brightness, Raphael's clavicula (raistlintg) The first one will take a while to fix but is an important point, so I'll...

Re: Dealing with destructive criticism (aspiring VN creator)

Just gotta learn to take it on the chin. Nobody likes getting bad feedback about their stuff, but its something you'll have to deal with because as long as you're doing something creative, people will always have opinions on it. Good and bad. Criticism is like getting a present from a stranger, you...

Art critique please!

Hi all! I'm working on a VN 'Journey Against Ouva', and recently it has been brought to my attention that my art could use some fixes. :) << Questions for you! >> 1. I thought the character and the background needs a bit of distinction, any ideas on how this can be done? 2. Flaws with anatomy/shadi...

Re: Dealing with destructive criticism (aspiring VN creator)

Labeling criticism as destructive is a really bad habit to get into. I thought I needed to make it clear. Some criticisms can be constructive (ones I always welcome and I wouldn't be making a post on lemmasoft about it) and others destructive. People don't have to necessarily justify every flaw the...

Dealing with criticism (aspiring VN creator)

Hi all! I posted a couple of screenshots on Tumblr recently: http://champignonkinoko.tumblr.com/post/104313221565/photo-collection-demo-sneak-peek-d-journey I had intentionally chosen bits of the dialogue that wouldn't let out too much spoilers, but I received criticism from an anonymous user on Tum...

Re: Should I invest time learning to draw?

Unless you enjoy drawing and want that extra creative outlet, it's not worth the time. Obtaining a level of skill that will rival the average artist who's been drawing for a while will probably take serious time and effort. I'm going to second this point again. I'm trying to fly solo (and possibly ...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Thought I'd do a dump of the characters I'd be using for my upcoming VN, demo expected end Dec/ early Jan! http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/334/a/8/promotional_edits_i_by_champignonkinoko-d876q2w.png Feedback/critique much appreciated!!! Re: DEVN 2014 - Demographics of EVN Community - Results

I think the high number of developers is because this is, in my mind at least, primarily a development forum. Sure, non-developers can enjoy their time...but this is the place to go if you want to get help on learning how to code, and this is a great place to find collaborators or advertise your wo...

Re: DEVN 2014 - Demographics of EVN Community - Results

These are some very interesting stats! I was frankly a tad surprised at females being the majority, and that VN devs & players were almost half each?! That's a real surprised. I wonder what kind of bias would be present in the survey? Say, for example: VN devs are more likely to respond because they...

Re: How to customise timed menus?

I've done that and it says it's relying on style_default. I thought the name was a bit risky to meddle with so I left it alone. ;)

Thanks :)

Re: Journey Against Ouva [Mystery][Adv][Otome] Updated 22/11

2. I'm having a hard time to decide >_< all of their personalities looks interesting! But if I have to choose...either Stanislav or Raphael. Raphael is a mystery and I think I'll like him more when the story develops. Stanislav looks strong and I like sporty characters xD (especially, Boxing & Base...
