Re: NaNoRenO 2010
Hurray for people-are-going-to-release-material-one-month-later month! I should probably set some sort of goal of my own, although I don't expect I could make a whole game in that time. (Through much trial and error I was forced to come to terms with the fact that I have no patience for small things...

Re: Valentine is coming!
Glasskitten's Valentine's Day: Ai Sp@ce. While hoping that my classmates at the Jesus Christ University of Jesus do not get the mistaken impression that I enjoy seeing my cute robot imouto get stripped down to her underwear by a horde of levitating paper squirrels. ...And then listening to my roomma...

Re: Still confused about visual novel structure
Within the Ren'py code, if the player needs to see the same exact scene in multiple routes, I'd assume that simply using a "call" to the scene (and then returning afterward) rather than a "jump" would make the difference...but according to the Universal Laws of Glasskitten in Conversation, you're pr...

Well, my first several project failures taught me the important lesson that people who know nothing about romance are often not so very good at writing romance, so...uh...hurray for zombies! I mean, other genres of Ren'Py-based literature! Yeah! And I shall take advantage of this freedom as soon as ...

I am probably not qualified to answer such a question, because (a) I never actually do stay motivated and (b) I often fail to follow my own advice...but I must second the recommendation to save, all the time, in every way, shape, and form imaginable. Computers are out to get us, and the most reliabl...

I believe myself to have signed up for a private NaNoRenO...
In my Media Study class, we had to propose a webpage-based project that would count for our final grade and display creative examples of the things we were supposed to have learned throughout the semester. The only thing I could think of was a visual novel, so...that is what I suggested. I have yet ...

DAZ3D offers its own free rendering program...not quite as fancy as Poser, but easy enough to learn if you just want to render a couple of anime girls quickly. (I think they had to offer their own program so that people who have never purchased Poser would still have an incentive to buy their commer...

This is not a new item, but I just want to validate the thing previously observed about medicines... And this kind especially bugs me: Take this depression pill and be rid of your symptoms! Warning, it may worsen your symptoms and make you suicidal. Take this asthma pill and be rid of your symptoms!...

Pertaining to art: How much copying is copying?
   I discovered that while I am not very good at drawing from imagination, I can do a reasonably good job copying other drawings--especially if I trace over the basic shapes first and then duplicate my tracing freehand. I have done this before for practice, but I was wondering if t...
