Re: Need Male Staff! for Escaping Illusion: The wanted Princ

You say that you need a male staff member for ideas and possibly for writing. Sex aside, what is the composition of the remainder of the team? Are the other members illustrators, musicians, programmers, or voice actresses? Also, do you have a synopsis of what the plot is meant to be for your title? ...

Re: Animated character artist for hire!(open)

I've got a question: do you have any content limitations? Sometimes illustrators specify whether they will be willing or able to produce artwork based on content such as mecha or heavy machinery, or adult content including explicit depictions of sexual content or detailed gore. It might be useful fo...

Re: Freelance Artist - Nikolai Ostertag - looking for work

I see a lot of examples of high-quality, high-detail western artstyle here. It looks like you could produce excellent character art, BGs, and CGs without any assistance. That is quite the strong point. Do you have any examples of what your rates might be? Have you commissioned in the past? It would ...

Re: Illustrator/concept artist looking for work

I think a little more in the way of details would help you to get more attention. First, I would strongly recommend adding a few of your illustrations to the content of your post, as they are very good and would give people an idea right off the bat of what you can do. Secondly, the content of your ...

This looks like it wants to be a recruitment thread for a non-commercial project. You may want to have it moved there.

Re: Outlining Struggles?

The formatting for the game is set up like a calendar visual-wise. The first day of the month is on a Friday, the 31st day is on a Sunday. Each day is a Chapter. I was planning that each week had a focus on a different story arc and the weekends were going to be one-shot side-stories. I see this as...

Re: How do you guys make good/interesting characters?

Coming up with questions about your characters and then answering those questions is an excellent way to develop them very quickly, as you've learned. As an addendum, I would make two suggestions: one, make sure to focus your questions in a ways which are relevant to the character in question, and t...

Re: Question about finishing VS starting a new project

Don't worry too much about getting it right the first time. That's why it's called a draft. It's many times easier to edit and revise a work which already exists than it is to create something new out of whole cloth. Finishing your first draft is probably going to be the hardest part. 600K words is ...

I wouldn't take any game development advice from the people who told us that gamers are over and don't have to be your audience.

Re: Should I make the romance and friendship routes obvious?

I am part of the "obvious" school when it comes to branching choices in VNs, and the reason has much to do with my reasoning on why VNs shouldn't have win/lose condition choices. I'm very pro-narrative when it comes to the content of VNs, and don't consider them something that the typical reader wan...

Re: What turns you off in a Visual Novel? Mistakes etc.

Technical errors and poor quality top the list, by far. You game shouldn't have bugs, your writing shouldn't have misspellings or grammatical errors, your art shouldn't have anatomy errors, and your music shouldn't skip or loop awkwardly. Oh, and I suppose your voice acting shouldn't sound like you ...
