Re: Anybody interested in 2d animation for VNs?
I suspect that Live2D is going to get increasingly popular for use in commercial VNs.

Re: Yet to be named characters speaking
Sounds to me like you need to trust your audience a bit more. Not every line of spoken dialogue needs to be accompanied by dialogue tags, even when you're writing in the novel format (which is certainly something you can do in a Visual Novel ). In fact, cold-opens are a great way to start a scene. T...

That is insane.Taleweaver wrote:None of this matters. We have no forum rules against tracing, so even if the art advertised here was the result of tracing, that wouldn't be a breach of rules.

Re: [FREE] Anime CG Artist!
I would like to echo indoneko's sentiments to other users in this thread who have leveled accusations of rudeness against Hayel's critics. Taosym in particular is owed at least a couple of apologies.
Disgraceful.
Disgraceful.

Re: [FREE] Anime CG Artist!
There is nothing rude or presumptuous about the concerns being brought up in this thread. The illustration in question bears the hallmarks of being traced beyond the point of reasonable doubt and andrewngn13 has presented sufficient evidence to prove it. You should take Taosym's advice. Stop doing t...

Re: Writing better dialogue?
Writing dialogue for a story can be tricky because you have two opposing forces pulling against each other. On one hand, you have the plot, which wants to progress and reach the next arc, chapter, or scene. On the other, you have banter and discussion, which wants to mill about accomplishing diddly ...

Re: How do YOU organise your characters?
Unless you're building a complex VN with a large number of choices and characters who are contained within a small environment, I don't see the necessity in formally organizing information about your characters. Similarly to Kinjo, I just kept a small list of major and minor characters in a notepad,...

Re: Different artstyles, storytelling and commercial viabili
It may seem like the eastern commercial artstyles found in anime have a stranglehold on popularity, but ultimately, the audience only really cares about whether what they're looking at is ugly or not. In comparison, western artstyles tend to be darker, grittier, and more focused on detailing than ea...

I strongly recommend writing your story as a novel before you turn it into a screenplay.

Re: Linear Chapter in Otherwise Less Linear VN
I don't really agree with the statement that there's no such thing as a VN with replay value. I reread books that I enjoyed and would like to re-experience fairly often. VNs are no different; a little while ago I replayed Shiro's and Travis' routes in Re: Alistair++ because I enjoyed them. Replay v...

Re: Linear Chapter in Otherwise Less Linear VN
There's really no such thing as a VN with replay value, unless perhaps there are significant gameplay mechanics which bring that value, but that's rather sidestepping the point. Readers are unlikely to re-read scenes they've already seen, either by only pursuing the route and choices they wanted on ...

Re: Writing Clarification?
You seem confident that you've accounted for the effects these power disparities should have in your setting, and it looks like you've got a clear purpose and message to your story. Not for nothing, my criticism was worded pretty harshly, and you took it sportingly. That resilience will serve you an...

Re: Writing Clarification?
Hoo boy, power levels. You may have just gone and overcomplicated things for yourself with that one. With the introduction of power levels, the entire physics of your world must see a complete upheaval and a total departure from reality such that we would scarcely be able to recognize very many - if...

Having recovered from the epileptic seizure induced by your post, I thought I'd offer you a few pointers. Please tone down the colors.
