Re: Diverse Character Dilemma

Sometimes I think of "meeting the needs of diversity" in fiction as a responsibility spread to all authors collectively.
And just like that, we've gone from debatably good intentions to a moral injunction that would make George Orwell roll in his grave.

Rick-and-Morty-970x545.jpg So six paragraphs later I've completed the process of smearing egg all over my face and I don't even know it yet. And not your garden variety chicken crap, either. More like schmeglorpian wiggler egg. You know what those do? They don't even have hard shells, Morty. It tak...

Re: advice about synopsis and history

I will tell you right off the bat that a large part of the problem lies with your use of language. I'm not completely sure about this, but I suspect based on your grammar and vocabulary that you are either a non-native speaker of English or that you are young and don't have access to significant sou...

Re: What are the best ways to show multiple endings?

Missing items in the galleries and other extra feature areas. It's a dead giveaway when there are blank spaces where CGs are meant to be, and the temptation to fill in those blank spaces is irresistible. If anything, I would prefer to see these accompanied by tooltips giving the reader an idea of wh...

Re: Language-Learning VN Game for Japanese

You should make a game about a dude who takes a plane to Japan and has a homestay with a pair of cute sisters who dress up in yellow tour guide uniforms to show him around the country.

Re: To info dump or not?

Wombats is absolutely spot-on. You can't dump until after you've generated reader interest in the info to be dumped, and you can deliver information with while steering clear of the dreaded info dump if you do it with enough finesse. To be a bit more targeted, I would be very very very very careful ...

Re: Outlining Initial Panic

If you find yourself staring at your screen absentmindedly, that's a pretty good sign that you might be lacking direction. Judging by your screenshot, I'd say I'm certain that's your problem right now. A visual novel is primarily a story told by you, but I notice that the choices you are presenting ...

My name is Nostradamus and I predict that South Korea will be completely incapable of enforcing their claim of having the authority to extradite foreigners to prosecute them in any information privacy lawsuits.

Re: Hatred for humanity

Bear in mind that although there can be several rational - if unpalatable - reasons for developing a misanthropic outlook, there's no particular reason you have to create a well-reasoned, internally-consistent psychological construct within the mind of your villain. Arguably the most beloved villain...
