Re: [WIP] Visual Novel Maker (VNMaker)

I am excited to see this since I just purchased the program off of humble bundle (thank god, considering the actual price of the software.) and I was looking for a VN engine that I could use. This looks amazing and powerful, it does have potential to compete with VN makers (it already kinda blows T...

As someone who is...slightly... obsessed with Mystic Messenger at the moment, I approve this thread. Your art is quite lovely!

Re: Real SMS or mail features in a VN

Personally, I think this idea has a ton of potential! There are a bunch of fun ways it could be implemented, and I love to see games trying out new things.

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

Oh! I didn't see that. I thought it led to the right link? Ah well: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6411621-the-element-encyclopedia-of-ghosts-hauntings Yes, that link works perfectly! Thank you for re-posting. :D Does this book describe various paranormal experiences specifically related to gho...

Re: Pixel Artist Looking For Long-Term Project

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE your work! Your skill as a pixel artist is undeniable. Probably the best I've seen on this forum, at the very least! You've most certainly managed to take the limited pallet of Eroge Pewter and torn it into some stunning visuals! I would love to work with you, ...

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

You could also make up a term and just use it. Coin your own phrase. You've made a fantasy world already anyways. An example is: in the series Shakugan no Shana, these fantastical creatures/people--good and bad--from some magical realm called the Crimson Realm are called Denizens from the phrase de...

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

Ah! I wasn't expecting so many responses in such a (relatively) short amount of time. You have all been incredibly helpful so far. I appreciate your assistance immensely! I've also realized that I didn't include nearly enough information about my game's supernatural entities, but that works out just...

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

I'm very fond of the term "fiend", which is both generic AND vicious-sounding. Thanks for the idea! "Fiend" is just the right kind of generic, and one I actually don't see used very often in this context. On the other hand, the beings within my game run the gamut as far as being good, evil, or neut...

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

The word demigod comes to mind. Totem is another possibility (From wikipedia: A totem (Ojibwe dodaem) is a spirit being, sacred object, or symbol that serves as an emblem of a group of people, such as a family, clan, lineage, or tribe). Or you could just use the Ojibwe word 'dodaem' Thanks for your...

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

Genie/djinn term covers both humanoid (sentient) and bestial form, though most people seems only familiar with efreet (a type of djinn mentioned in the story of Aladdin and King Solomon). Similar to human, the sentient ones also divided between good and evil... Ah! That's one I hadn't thought of, b...

Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?

Good morrow, fine citizens of Lemmasoft! I've run into a small conundrum that I hope someone out there might be able to assist me with. I'm presently developing a mysterious BL visual novel set within a lushly detailed fantasy world, but I'm having second thoughts about the name I've thus far been u...

Re: The King of Writers XX [Parody|Adventure|Comedy|SliceOfL

Does one need to have read the previous story and/or know the artists being parodied to fully understand and appreciate what's going on? Or can this be enjoyed as-is by anyone (perhaps missing only some easter eggs and inside jokes)?

Congratulations on releasing your first game!
If you want to entice potential players a bit more, you should include some information about your game's storyline and characters. :3

Oh my goodness, this sounds crazy and I love it. I'll try to join if I can, although between the new school year and a few other projects I may not be able to. You should definitely join up if you can! TV Tropes is bound to give wacky suggestions by virtue of its very nature, and there's just a ton...

Re: Tenkeiteki Tokyo [parody]

To remedy your concerns over the small image sizes and text box covering part of the scene, you can use a separate letter box and place the text below the images rather than overlaying the text on top. To give an example, here's a screenshot from the visual novel Narcissu: Link! The method used ther...
