Re: Feedback for a newbie please

You'll want to upgrade to actually using a DAW instead of feeding loops/samples into soundtrap. I recommend FL Studio, since the price is good and the functionality is what you'd expect from a professional tool.

Hey there, I'm interested in composing your music (and battle music, basically all your music needs) for this game.

Nice to know I was brought up as a possible side dish for the buffet instead of a serious consideration.

Re: Menu choice not working correctly.

I've actually managed to port my game foundation (functionally) to a different engine with good results in a couple of hours: http://i.imgur.com/n7yfbGV.png?1 Note: this is cropped from the 1280*720 resolution I used bits and bobs from other prototypes to get it functionally at the point where I was...

Re: Menu choice not working correctly.

I'd be interested in sort of a Ren'py lite where I can get just the scripted dialogue system and simple branching menus, and I know there's APIs for other development methods that do something similar, but it's not as good as Ren'py's or doesn't have simple formatting. Re: Menu choice not working correctly.

It certainly is. I've got experience with a number of other engines and APIs, right down to Assemblies for well-loved processors. A lot of the solutions to the problems I've experienced when trying to work in Ren'py involve doing things that work around the main API to the point where it's not reall...

Re: Menu choice not working correctly.

Doesn't seem to work as described for me (actually, it doesn't work at all), possibly because I'm using sheets for these images and not separate files. I think I'm just building the wrong kind of game with this engine and mistook it for one with more flexibility.

Re: Menu choice not working correctly.

Welp, my project might be a bit too ambitious for the amount of simple things this engine gives me trouble with. I think I'm just going to stick to doing music for Ren'py devs and programming with tools that have more programmer-friendly development interfaces. I think that's just a bridge too far f...
