Re: Diving in Deep [Romance/Fantasy][GxB][NaNo2015]

Just finished my first ever GUI screen! Very excited and have to say kinda pleased :D

Posted a screenshot on the first post.

Was hoping to go for something clean and simple, but themed to the underwater and beach locations in the VN. Does it look easy to navigate?

Any advice welcome!

Re: Art Save Quality

If your screen resolution is larger than the image you create, it'll be up-scaled in fullscreen; i.e., the image is stretched to fit the screen. Scaling up an image always results in a loss in quality because the computer has too guess the extra pixels in the larger version based on what it already...

Re: Diving in Deep [Romance/Fantasy][GxB][NaNo2015]

This sounds awesome! Does Quinn turn into a mermaid herself or does she stay a human? And I like that it has some action in it as well. Even if I am also a sucker for a good romance  I'm glad you think it sounds good :D Been thinking of doing it for some time, and NaNo is just the motivation ...

Art Save Quality

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, I had a quick search through the forum but couldn't find anything! I'm currently drawing my GUI screens for my visual novel. I have the canvas set to 1280x720, which is the resolution of the VN I am producing. It looks great and crisp when at that r...

NaNo is about to start! AHHHHH!!! :D *Snipped due to size* Happy NaNo-ing <3 Some really brilliant advice, thank you so much for sharing. With this one being my first project, it's nice to get a handle on organising how the VN is going to go and hear from those more experienced :) Very excited to g...

Those are brilliant links, thank you! I did do a search on the forums, but may have used wrong keywords to search with! :D

Point of View in VNs

I was wondering if people would be willing to give me their opinions on narratives in VNs. I have my VN planned out for NaNoReNo, but I'm still unsure which point of view to write from- 1st (I, me), 2nd (You, yours), or 3rd (She/he). So far, I haven't played any VNs with 3rd-person point of view, so...

Re: Episodic Releases - Pros and Cons

I don't tend to go for episodic games either. I'm not a very patient person, so like things all in one go :D Same goes for TV series, I tend to wait until they're all released until I watch them. But then you run the risk of people forgetting about it. For example, I might think that I want to play ...

Re: Arena Circus [GxB][BxB][Fantasy]

Love the logo and style you got going on with this :) 1. Does this sound like something you'd be interested in playing? Very interested. I'm more interested generally in story and romance than battle stuff, but that's a very personal preference. I find the stories in VNs or even games in general far...

Re: Ebon Light [Fantasy][Dark][GxB]

This game sounds amazing and the art is stunning! Very excited about it :) As for your questions, I was unsure how to approach romance and I wondered if something more obvious would be better for players. In an otome where romance is the main thing, I don't think you need it. But in a game where the...

Re: Seduce Me [GxB][Romance, Comedy][Incubi/Demons](Free)

Really enjoyed this game! I went for Eric first time round because, well, I couldn't resist :D The art was great, though the sprite of Mika disappeared part way through and she never came back. Though that could be on purpose? I'm going through it again now and finding little bits and pieces of new ...

Sounds really interesting! Definitely something I'd look into if it were in English.

The inventory and the objects being able to be used for different things really caught my interest :)

Re: Non-Anime art styles

I think the quality of the art is more important and, as n0tgin says, all styles have their charms. Personally I enjoy when the art style is something other than anime/manga style, as that is pretty much everywhere. Don't get me wrong! I do enjoy the anime style, but when I come across a VN that has...
