Re: Digital: A Love Story
Thanks! I'm very glad to hear that had an emotional impact on you-- I was very concerned that both of those would fall flat. :x Haha far from it, I enjoyed it immensely. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't bump into Guru Meditation though ;) Or will it appear later? any hints? One of the earliest messa...

Re: RE: Alistair (Otome dating sim/stats raising visual novel)
I also thought it's a typo, it'd probably help if a particular character was constantly talking / streaming text in typos (so the player knows it's intentional) or perhaps some other character could comment on it? (oh, now the posts are edited so this doesn't make sense anymore) Anyway it's a brilli...

Re: Digital: A Love Story
What a nice game! Love the understated humour and the execution. Thanks for giving it away for free! ...I think I got stuck though, my screen got "blinded" and there are no new messages anywhere. I'm down to one long-distance call code and have no idea what to do... Things I have tried so far: PMing...

Re: Transparency in the Menu Choice Button?
Does the transparency from the same files you use for these buttons work elsewhere (for example if you use them in/as characters)? Sorry for asking the obvious but just making sure it's not a case of wrongly exported pngs.
Edit: no idea about the code though

Re: Your most favorite obscure game?
Not sure these are really that obscure but compared to say Final Fantasy they certainly seem so... here goes my list off the top of my head. In action games, it's probably Kirby Air Ride . Everybody was complaining that the game is boring, too simple and whatnot while I enjoyed it because it's energ...

Re: Font suggestions?
Hey why are you quoting my post when talking about "dangerous paths", makes it look as if I were assuming that kind of stuff  I never implied it's fine to embed whatever, the links to Adobe etc were the answer to the last few words of OP just to point him to galleries of pro fonts. Maybe I shou...

Re: Worst or most disappointing game you ever bought
I've read somewhere that their idea was that the second installment was so much better than the first part it almost felt like a third installment in the series. In fact the second part is what I originally wanted to buy, but in the shop they somehow managed to swap the box and the cartridge... so n...

Re: Font suggestions?
No idea what the game you mention is using but had a look at the Komika Text and my suggestion is to go with either (I assume you want your fonts to be free) Tuffy or Delicious . More fonts can be found at Linotype , Adobe and ITC , some of them are pretty affordable (especially if you don't buy the...

Re: Worst or most disappointing game you ever bought
I'm pretty much like the original poster (not buying games based on hype etc) so I don't have any particularly problematic games to report. In the past I did buy tons of horrible games (my childhood was wasted on C64 games) but they all meld into one gray mass and it's hard to single any one out. Th...

Re: IG Maker, a new product from Enterbrain
The engine is definitely very versatile, here is a gallery. Some of the games there are pretty good.
Also here's an example of Flash export.

Re: IG Maker, a new product from Enterbrain
The usual videogamey stuff - shooting, jumping, inventories, even a rudimentary dialogue system similar to the one in ButaVX (which was done in another engine) but simpler. There's also an experimental project complete with a devlog for more examples. For me the most interesting aspect of IGM is nei...

Re: IG Maker, a new product from Enterbrain
Well Flash has many selling points which doesn't mean other software can't try to claim some of those as well.
In any case, I haven't tested all the new Flash stuff that recently appeared (Flixel etc) but certain kind of games can be made faster in IG Maker since it's a specialized tool.

Re: IG Maker, a new product from Enterbrain
In my experience Flash export is extremely limited - it even has (IMO serious, especially considering this is a prototyping tool for action games) problems with collision detection. At first I thought I'm doing something wrong but then I've seen the collision glitch even in the official tutorials on...
