The problem is most likely that the screen can't change to a 640x480 DirectX supported mode. You need to find out what color depths are supported in 640x480 resolution and change to one of them. If none are, you're kind of out of luck :? Maybe releasing a version 1.1 with an option for playing insid...

Some other people have had this problem, and I offer some ways to fix it there. Try them, and if you still have problems, post again. Also, please tell me what version of Windows, CPU, how much RAM, etc. your computer has.

What are the specs on your computer?

The other explanation would be that you need this file in the same directory as the game:

alleg40.dll (version 4.0.3)

I accidentally included version 4.0.2. It usually works the same, but some people had the problem you have with it. Try the new one.

I think the most frequent cause of this problem is your desktop color depth being set to a mode that is not supported by DirectX in 640x480. Try changing the color depth to 16-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit and see if that helps. (Don't try 256 color mode.) One of those three color depths should work with t...
