Re: How many demos should I make before recruitment?
I second what Jate is saying. Anticipate all the questions an artist would have, and make sure you can answer them. It will increase their confidence in your ability to finish the game. You can start out small, and just have a detailed outline for the demo, with some rough concepts for the entirety ...

Re: Please tell me what to draw ~
Nice! I just tweeted this. Link is in my profile. Would you mind a second request? How are you at something more punk? I like Japanese culture and Punk style. When I searched for them together, I found this picture as a nice example. Feel free to switch up some of the details, of course. I really li...

Re: Seeking Background Artist for Vampires: The New Birth
There's no fixed number yet.
The title does say "looking for partners." That would apply more if we were just looking for freelancers.

Re: Vampires: The New Birth [Mystery, Supernatural]
By default, the protagonist is male. If we can spare the extra time, we'll add the option of a female protagonist as well.bellice wrote: Question: Will we be able to choose whether to play a guy or a girl or does the protagonist have a set gender?
Thanks for your support!

Re: Summer Novel Festival Discussion Thread
Sounds like it could be fun. My department has traditionally been writing. But now I'm starting to learn what makes the Ren'Py engine tick, and can actually make a game (couldn't say that two weeks ago, lol). I might give it a try.

Re: Summer Novel Festival Discussion Thread
So what happens when it's over? You said there were no prizes or votes. Do you host the submitted visual novels somewhere for others to see?

Re: What are your expectations on VNs with calendars?
They're not typically required, unless you're playing a game where you have to prepare your character for upcoming events (like studying for an exam, so you increase your Intelligence stat). In regards to your biggest concern, I don't think a calender is your ideal option, since you can apparently s...

Since you're offering paid work, you should try DeviantArt's forums as well. Pro tip: keep your post condensed, since people browse through lots of posts there.

Re: The quagmire of the harem protagonist
When it comes to visual novels and other interactive fiction though - mediums where the entire purpose is to tell a story - then I agree with you, silent protagonists aren't really necessary. But as long as gameplay is a factor, sometimes compromises have to be made with the story. Of course. Some ...

Re: The quagmire of the harem protagonist
To more specifically address your other concern (about bland protagonists), I think there are two kinds of writers that make them: the ones who do so out of fear of alienating an audience, and the ones that do so out of convenience. It's like the mute/faceless protagonist. He's so transparent, anyon...

Re: The quagmire of the harem protagonist
Are we talking about stories where the protagonist has multiple romance options, or actually ends up being with more than one partner? If it's the latter, then that kind of story can only be so good. Unless you comically show the obstacles of such a goal, or are trying to make a point about morality...
