Re: Panacea [fantasy][romance][adventure]

If you want to keep it simple, there are two ways you can go about it: decisions, or stats. The former is all about choices (where you go, what you say to whom) and often involve many different scenarios. This is for players that mainly enjoy character interaction and lots of dialogue choices. The l...

Re: Panacea [fantasy][romance][adventure]

I second what Juno said. A concern some writers have when writing antagonists, is they'll create too much distance between the story and the readers, out of dislike for the character. To avoid that, it's important they can see the character as a person, not just an obstacle to the protagonist. Even ...

Re: Panacea [fantasy][romance][adventure]

This sounds like an exciting concept. The idea of romance amidst a war with such high stakes, not knowing if you'll survive the next day. That sense of uncertainty really adds tension. Become a fierce rebel leader, or a tyrannical ruler? Sounds like fun. Especially all the room for character develop...

Re: What is done in the project development phase?

You'll need a clear outline of what you want for the game. A game design document your team can reference. Then you'll need a plan of action: who needs to do what, when should they do it, and how. Get some kind of cloud service like google drive, so your team can view documents without having to con...

Re: Visual Novel Publishers?

So far, I'd say Sekai Project is probably your best bet if you're looking for a VN publisher. I say this solely because, from what I have been told of it, they are very good at working with indie devs, and they do, in fact, also publish OELVN's. As for anyone else? Unless they have a good reputatio...

Re: Visual Novel Publishers?

Hello papillon, Funny you posted here. One of my team members was talking about your game today, "Long Live the Queen," and I had a tab open, ready to check it out, lol. This isn't for me personally. When I made the search and got almost nothing in the results, I was curious. I already know there ar...

Re: How to tie your design together?

Depends on your approach. For logos, some people like a literal or symbolic representation. Like a cup of coffee for a cafe, or just an artistic symbol meant to represent the company. For titles, some people are just straightforward, like "John's Books" for example. Others like the titles to be catc...

Re: Visual Novel Publishers?

Sekai Project seems like who you're looking for; they've recently begun publishing a pretty nice slew of indie visual novels, including our very own Starlight Vega. Sekai Project is new and they mostly support kickstarter projects not indie projects like 'one man team', not very helpful in advertis...

Visual Novel Publishers?

I just made a search online, but surprisingly couldn't find a list of potential publishers. And I didn't see any on this forum either.

I know there are indie game publishers. But are there ones focusing on visual novels only?

Re: Know Any Artist Recruting Sites (Free or Paid)?

True, you do have to reach out. That's how I recruited most of my members. But like you said, the free ones are often mixed in with the paid ones. From my experience, the latter is more numerous. While I don't think we need sites specifically for free work, I know we need more sites like this one: t...
