Thanks so much, Kinmoku! This should be a great help. Also, love that profile picture.

Very fascinating so far. Do you plan on recruiting help to finish the game sooner?

Thanks for recommendations. I'll probably have to use references in the beginning, before I can draw from memory.

Re: Where to Learn Digital Art for Complete Beginners?

Auro-Cyanide Thanks for the references. I was starting to think my issues with the mouse was just me. The pen tool, and then using the brush over the selected paths, seems to be the closing thing to a pencil you can get with a mouse. I can modify brushes all day, but for me, it's never the same. I'm...

Re: Where to Learn Digital Art for Complete Beginners?

Auro-Cyanide n0tgin: No, you misunderstood. My problem is I have no idea how to draw with a mouse. I can already do basic drawings with pencils, but drawing with pencils and mouses aren't the same thing. I can't transfer the same skills over. How do I smooth lines, color in certain parts, etc. Mayb...

Re: Where to Learn Digital Art for Complete Beginners?

Thanks for the two of you trying to help me. Takes a lot of stress off this. My Current Materials: Photoshop C6. I don't have any tablets, only my mouse. And unfortunately, no scanner. My Current Skills: Extreme beginner. I can't draw from memory. I can draw very basic anime characters, but only if ...

Re: Monogatari, a modern Ren'py-like Web VN Engine

I can't finish the demo. When it gets to the part where it shows the video, it won't let me progress. I have Windows XP and can't download the latest versions of Java, so maybe that's why.

Also, what programs do I have to download to begin using this? I can't open the files.

Re: Where to Learn Digital Art for Complete Beginners?

It should be a lot easier for a beginner to start learning art just drawing with pencil-and-paper. Using the mouse, or tablet doesn't really approximate the real feeling of drawing. I agree. But tablets are outside my budget range. And if I can't learn how to draw with a mouse, I can't make art for...

Where to Learn Digital Art for Complete Beginners?

I browsed through the art tutorials here, and unfortunately, they all assume you have at least some drawing skills. I'm trying to learn how to draw with photoshop, but it's so frustrating. The only things I can find are scattered tutorials on how to do specific things, not actually teaching a beginn...

Re: Nostalgia: Two Worlds | One Soul [Drama/Suspense]

You're welcome :) It's okay. $10-15 is actually being generous. 20+ hours, plus the gameplay I saw on your website, you could sell this for $15-20. If you get the extra funds for it, I'd also consider possible dlc. If this game turns out as good as I expect, I'll certainly want to buy any future exp...

I have to launch a campaign myself in a few days. Any tips on how to get more people to visit it? You've already drawn in a lot of attention.

Re: Nostalgia: Two Worlds | One Soul [Drama/Suspense]

1) I like the backgrounds for the city, they look pretty nice. 2) Potentially. I'd just need more description on how you plan to fulfill your stated goals in the game. 3) I can't find the definition of dls. What currency is that? 4) I personally don't know about puzzle zones, so can't comment. Sorry...

Re: ~ Ringmaster's Art Thread [Critiques Welcome] ~

First off, excellent picture :) I'm not that skilled in art, but I still have some critiques I hope will help. The hair seems the be the part of drawing with the highest quality, both in texture and its lines. You should make the lines of her pupils bolder, so they're more eye-catching. Otherwise, s...

Re: Smaller Project Struggles

Longer stories don't necessarily equal better stories. I can enjoy a regular novel as much as a short story. When making bigger projects, I don't even consider it unless I'm confident I have all the needed resources to do so. Otherwise, yeah, I might eventually finish it, but it's an unnecessary str...
