Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
The first visual novel I played was Voices from the Sea, though I'd played some game jam games around the same time. I was pleasantly surprised at the game. Short, but sweet. It's probably one reason why my preference has been looking for short-length VNs to dive into.

Re: Get Dumped ☆
I enjoyed this game but oh gosh is it depressing XD Still, it's definitely an entertaining twist and holds true to the title of the game! I kinda had a paranoid suspicion about Kisa secretly dating Arashi and just acting helpful, but thank goodness, she turned out to be a good friend after all- thou...

Re: My first draft is better than my second?
I think the initial first draft is always the easiest for most writers because at that point we have a plan of action. Getting to editing and building on a second draft...now that's a hard one. I think we all tend to have troubles rereading our works because we easily notice errors and try so hard t...

Re: Can a visual novel "without sight" be good
I think it can be good, but to that end, as a player I feel like I'd really need something to stare at besides a black empty void. Silhouettes could actually be pretty cool to use in this type of game, because we'll have an image to focus in on and it says something about the character if they don't...

Re: Why are you making your current visual novel?
Sometimes I have stories in my head that I know I haven't seen elsewhere and I had a ton of fun taking part in a game jam making my own visual novel in 30 days. That was cool but I've never been able to make another since and I'm hoping that this current story idea turns out the way I imagine it to ...

Re: Critique and Help Wanted for Sprite Art
I'm just getting into sprite drawing myself, so I'm definitely not an expert, but I'll give you some little critiques! First off, all my artist friends tell me that you never wanna hide your hands! It's a habit I ALWAYS do with my art, but hands provide you with the ability to gesture and add more p...

Re: Shout For Joy, Share Your Happiness
I'm bursting at the seams at joining a game jam this month. It's been a LONG time since my last game and I just love the community feel of following everyone else in the jam and seeing what others create!

Re: Yuri Game Jam 2016! (Oct 1st to 31st)
Hello there, I'd like to take part in Yuri Jam, but I'm not sure if my story idea is fit for it ;w;... I love the idea of your story and the format of making it into a sort of interactive boardgame! Super creative and I can't wait to see it :D ___ I'll be joining Yurijam for the first time this yea...

Re: Voiceacting in Commercial VNs-- do you?
I find it really does depend on the quality of the voice-actors, but as long as there's an option to turn off the VA at any time, I don't see a problem with it. I've been really getting into audiobooks lately, and much like visual novels, if the voices help you visualize the story that much better, ...

Re: Tyranobuilder?
I made my first game on Tyranobuilder, so the engine in itself is a plus. It was really easy with the drag n' drop interface to get what you want, and the new updates really help with customization. That being said, the single negative that I have about the program is the inability to distribute to ...

Re: The VN or The KN?
As someone working on a mainly kinetic novel, I feel like there are some stories that will just flow better AS a kinetic novel. I've looked at the essence of my story over and over, trying to find a way to fit in choices, but I just can't find it. There's a huge plethora of visual novels that work g...

A Flamingo Tale - Remastered WIP
Hey guys! Last October I developed a short game about a flamingo that saves the world. I finished it within 30 days, and you can play it right here: A Flamingo Tail Quick TLDR: Adventure, Kinetic, Animalcentric, Available for Windows or Browser only Since then, I've been wanting to remaster the game...

Re: NaNoReno 2016 General Recruitment Thread
Hey! I'm a writer looking to join a group for this year's NaNoReno. I could use the experience, and am fascinated with seeing how visual novels combine art, writing, and music to create something original and unique! I was the 1st place winner for last year's Tyrannojam, where I wrote about a Flamin...
