Re: Tenkeiteki Tokyo [parody]

http://www.fusebloware.com/Pics/TenkeitekiTokyo/Dojikko3.gif So, okay, this thread didn't get updated for quite some time but that doesn't mean I'm not working on Tenkeiteki Tokyo. In the "Doomed Diner" thread I was speaking of animation (inspired by a thread about animation on this forum). After h...

Re: Sprites with different poses as well as expressions?

Time is not that much of a factor so I would be willing to do different poses, but I don't want to bother if it isn't as important as I think it is. Well, if you don't want to bother then you shouldn't draw different poses  Apart from whether or not you get excited from the prospect of drawing...

Re: Point of View Switching

Well, from a third omniscient person POV, it should be relatively easy. A good example is J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" (the book, not the movie). Tolkien sets the stage and describes the feelings of all the characters on that stage, Tolkien is the narrator who can look inside the heads o...

Re: Why are you making your current visual novel?

So are you indonesian, Dutch or a combination then? Because unless you're talking about the Japanese concentration camps during WWII I need to brush up my history.... The "Indos" are Dutch-Indonesian, they're the children of Dutch men who married Indonesian women back when Indonesia was a Dutch col...

Re: Why are you making your current visual novel?

The most recent VN? I guess that has to be Tenkeiteki Tokyo since I see "The Doomed Diner" as a little side project (though the animations I'm working on are making it quite big in terms of development time). For "Tokyo" my inspiration is my fascination with the Japanese culture. It's really interes...

Re: CG in visual novels - Too many or too few?

IMO When a CG breaks the flow of the story, then it was a CG too many. A player doesn't read and look at CGs at the same time (at least, not me). There should be a need for a CG, to illustrate the story. There's not a number you can attach to it, it's whether it's appropriate to make the player stop...

Re: Anybody interested in 2d animation for VNs?

I don't know a whole lot about how its done in Ren'Py (because I've only used it for about 3 weeks at the time of this post), but animating should not be too difficult a feat for a regular artist. I have to disagree with the idea that the two skill sets are separate. Because as someone whose create...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

Ah yes, the time thing. Well, I still got a month for that but a number of VNs in this forum took longer than 2 months to finish but were not moved to the regular forum. Tenkeiteki Tokyo was never moved although that one is now well over 2 months in development. I guess it goes like this : - Non-com...

Re: Complex Anatomy

Regardless of whether you want to draw realistical or some variation like Manga style, it all starts with how people look for real. There are certain "rules of thumb" for drawing correct proportions (the head is 5 eyeballs wide, there's an eyeball of width between the two eyes, hands are about the s...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

(Oh my goodness it's alive again, yes!) I was pretty sad that it wasn't finished on time for nano (and vanished) so I'm pretty ecstatic to see you're recreating it. (Rebooting???) Sure, I'm not a yuri fan, but I'm still looking forward to reading it~ You may have changed the art style (farewell glo...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

Well, a critique forum might help. The wetcanvas forum has even several critique fora (wetcanvas a.k.a. "wet blanket"). This was necessary because the forum attracts both hobbyists and professional artists. Many hobbyists just wanted to showcase their stuff and receive praise, to them the forum is a...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

Thanks both! All of the colors are still the CMYK colors. I'm beginning to like them although they are a bit heavy on the purples and too light on the browns. The option to post an incomplete game is interesting. I'll look into it although I'm a bit hesitant about it. If it's finished way too late, ...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

So, basically, it all boils down to getting an honest critique. Indeed, when I first started posting stuff I was somewhat disappointed to hardly get any responses (that's the whole point of posting WIPs). But I also saw that other people hardly got responses. I understand Taleweaver's dissapointment...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

October 25th already. Well, I'm making good progress with the sprites and animations. I only need a couple of BGs but there's no way I'm gonna finish this in time unless I truncate the story or simply post a demo (there's still the little issue of making the whole program). http://www.fusebloware.co...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

Yeah, I think that "If I had the time and money then..." is the less embarrassing way of saying "Oh God! I thought it was free! In that case, never mind." The sales stats thread shows that the demographic of VN fans is either poor or only wants free stuff (or both) and the creators would have ...
