Re: Why are you making your current visual novel?

The most recent VN? I guess that has to be Tenkeiteki Tokyo since I see "The Doomed Diner" as a little side project (though the animations I'm working on are making it quite big in terms of development time). For "Tokyo" my inspiration is my fascination with the Japanese culture. It's really interes...

Re: CG in visual novels - Too many or too few?

IMO When a CG breaks the flow of the story, then it was a CG too many. A player doesn't read and look at CGs at the same time (at least, not me). There should be a need for a CG, to illustrate the story. There's not a number you can attach to it, it's whether it's appropriate to make the player stop...

Re: Anybody interested in 2d animation for VNs?

I don't know a whole lot about how its done in Ren'Py (because I've only used it for about 3 weeks at the time of this post), but animating should not be too difficult a feat for a regular artist. I have to disagree with the idea that the two skill sets are separate. Because as someone whose create...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

Ah yes, the time thing. Well, I still got a month for that but a number of VNs in this forum took longer than 2 months to finish but were not moved to the regular forum. Tenkeiteki Tokyo was never moved although that one is now well over 2 months in development. I guess it goes like this : - Non-com...

Re: Complex Anatomy

Regardless of whether you want to draw realistical or some variation like Manga style, it all starts with how people look for real. There are certain "rules of thumb" for drawing correct proportions (the head is 5 eyeballs wide, there's an eyeball of width between the two eyes, hands are about the s...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

(Oh my goodness it's alive again, yes!) I was pretty sad that it wasn't finished on time for nano (and vanished) so I'm pretty ecstatic to see you're recreating it. (Rebooting???) Sure, I'm not a yuri fan, but I'm still looking forward to reading it~ You may have changed the art style (farewell glo...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

Well, a critique forum might help. The wetcanvas forum has even several critique fora (wetcanvas a.k.a. "wet blanket"). This was necessary because the forum attracts both hobbyists and professional artists. Many hobbyists just wanted to showcase their stuff and receive praise, to them the forum is a...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

Thanks both! All of the colors are still the CMYK colors. I'm beginning to like them although they are a bit heavy on the purples and too light on the browns. The option to post an incomplete game is interesting. I'll look into it although I'm a bit hesitant about it. If it's finished way too late, ...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

So, basically, it all boils down to getting an honest critique. Indeed, when I first started posting stuff I was somewhat disappointed to hardly get any responses (that's the whole point of posting WIPs). But I also saw that other people hardly got responses. I understand Taleweaver's dissapointment...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

October 25th already. Well, I'm making good progress with the sprites and animations. I only need a couple of BGs but there's no way I'm gonna finish this in time unless I truncate the story or simply post a demo (there's still the little issue of making the whole program). http://www.fusebloware.co...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

Yeah, I think that "If I had the time and money then..." is the less embarrassing way of saying "Oh God! I thought it was free! In that case, never mind." The sales stats thread shows that the demographic of VN fans is either poor or only wants free stuff (or both) and the creators would have ...

Re: Horrifying Devotion/Love {Fangame,Otome, Horror movie}

I just wanna know if the pissed-off goalie is played by Kane Hodder  Anyway, my favorit? Well, I've got tons of DVDs of all but only Nightmare and Friday complete so it's gonna be a toss up between Freddy and Jason. I go with... Freddy. Just because he was messed up by his dad being Alice Coope...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

Thank you Mythee! I hope to finish it in time. Speaking of being pressed for time : I've decided to cut some corners. The title page, for example, is just one of the in-game backgrounds with title and buttons on it. http://www.fusebloware.com/Pics/YuriJam2016/Screenie04.jpg Of course, the same has t...

Re: The Doomed Diner [Yuri Jam 2016]

A quick update. http://www.fusebloware.com/Pics/YuriJam2016/screenie03.jpg The astute reader might notice a slight difference in art style. After doing 16 CGs I noticed it took too long. Also, the story visited too many different locations and this ballooned the number of CGs I needed. I've changed ...

Re: Are they common rules about creating Backgrounds for VN?

First this perspective is physically wrong it's 15 century perspective theory. Real eyes bein spheres, perspective is spherical too. You can see in deformation with a camera lens that have the same distortion than the eyes and how most of the line are curved on the photos. Whether or not straight l...
