Re: Automated "reaction" (such as an image appearing) when changing a specific condition?
Ok, so it def works automatically and also much thanks for the callback link! Now I guess I have to show my "starter with programming" card and confess: how do I make it an image instead of text cause when I simply exchange the "< a is up >" with "heart.png", it just says that as text on the screen....

[SOLVED] Automated "reaction" (such as an image appearing) when changing a specific condition?
I have genuinely no idea if it is possible, so getting told "nope, sorry", is obviously absolutely fine. I am making a dating sim and during each meeting with a character, the player gets a total of up to 20 options that increase or decrease their relationship meter. Most Dating Sims make that a tri...

Thanks, Ocelot, it works!
Code: Select all
$ code = renpy.input ("Well? What time is it?")
$ code = code.lower()
if code in ["crazy time", "crazy-time", "crazytime", "idonthavetimeforthis"]:
jump right_code_white
else:
jump wrong_code_white- Mon May 17, 2021 9:32 am

One variable with multiple attributes (I want an input check where multiple answers are correct) [SOLVED]
I lack the programming vocabulary so sorry if the title sounds confusing, but the idea is basically this: I ask for a password. I give them the correct answer. Later they have to put in the answer. My dilemma is now this: People might use like 15 ways to write the password in regard to upper and low...

Re: Unlockable Main Menu button problem [SOLVED]
Ooooh, that looks at least much nicer!
Thank you!
P.S.
In case anyone here is looking for help, I noticed one small thing: do NOT use "Jump" in it. Use Start(label name). Or you play the game IN the main menu :'D

Re: Unlockable Main Menu button problem
Ah ok, I misunderstood what you meant with the auto comment, my bad. if persistent.black == True: imagebutton auto "gui/menu/black_%s.png" xpos 1100 ypos 110 focus_mask True action Jump("black1x0") else: imagebutton auto "gui/menu/black_%s.png" xpos 1100 ypos 110 focus_mask True This version works (...

Re: Unlockable Main Menu button problem
Ah, my bad! With the two changes you said, the error is this: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/screens.rpy", line 353, in execute screen main_menu(): File "game/screens.rpy", line 353, in execute screen main_menu(): File "game/screens.rpy", line 364,...

Unlockable Main Menu button problem [SOLVED]
It is probably simple, but I am really bad with programming (and more than grateful for this forum for having like 5 million guides and such) and the suggestions I've seen float around about unlocking image buttons don't work (probably all basic issues), but are also all quite old already, so I rath...

Re: GUI Feedback please
To Imperfekt: I think I actually read about that, they called it the difference between "True Black", "Print Black" and "Rich Black"? Like, #000000 is Rich Black I think and there are two other blacks (True Black which actually reads as pitch black by CMYK printers and Print Black which is printer-f...

GUI Feedback please
So UI design is kind of my weakness and while I feel I am getting somewhere, I believe I am not yet where I want to. And since some people here have amazing designs, I'd like some feedback on what I got and would appreciate any input. (Note: Font and color are NOT up for debate. It has to be black&w...

Re: Change name position INSIDE namebox?
Ah, I didn't consider that I could center with align and THEN move with pos. See, I assumed it is a simple answer for a stupid problem xD" Thanks, I had to play a bit to move it back in position, but it looks good now! Thanks Jackkel! And Isobelle, while not necessary now, it's actually good advice,...

Change name position INSIDE namebox? [SOLVED]
Heya o/ I am having a problem that is probably a single line that I overlooked 30 times now or something So I have changed the size, look and position of the name box, modified the textbox and bla bla But I can't figure out how to make the name in the namebox be higher than it is (position, not font...

Options reveal route direction?
I don't really know how to start this question, so I am just gonna be direct with an example: https://i.imgur.com/IWzcsmN.png I backed The Office Type when it first started it's kickstarter and have been thinking about this feature of theirs a lot. Since my own game also features a love-friend-aquai...

Re: Coming up with sprite poses?
One good source to find a nice pose that a character might be in for long are "Live Drawing" videos. Especially if they cover time spans of 10-30 minutes since the model will be in a pose that he/she can actually hold for that long (and thus will probably a relaxed and comfortable one in contrast to...

Re: Games with mixed art
It depends on how it is mixed and what is mixed, I'd say? I mean, the movie "Le Tableau" does this on purpose as does "The Prophet", but both are cohersive in their own. Whenever I work with others and there are multiple artists, we divide the work in a way that it isn't obvious that we have differe...
